Top 5 pin in my opinion, the new code is superb and its staying for a very long time in my collection

#77 9 years ago
Quoted from Asael:

It's in my top 3.
AC/DC, WOZ, Metallica. And I can't say which one is the number 1.

WOZ is amazing, but out of stern machines I like Metallica over ACDC, I sold my ACDC to buy a WOZ as I never played it after I got Metallica

Quoted from Hudson:

The Metallica pinblades from Pinball Refinery add some really nice artwork to the game. See pictures on this thread:
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-metallica-pinblades-and-lighting-effects-taking-orders
My pin is on page two of the thread, one pic with the pinball lights on, and one with the machine off.

Ive got my creeping death side rails arriving soon........ they look awesome.

I was loving it until I polished the playfield and had a game that the ball was traveling so fast of the flipper that it hit the 1st inline target and snapped it clean in half.........

I still love just got to fix it now.

#146 9 years ago
Quoted from Kiwipinhead:

Ha! I did the same when 1.5 code came out, while loading the code gave the playfield a clean, 20 games on new code ...... SNAP!

Its amazing how fast the ball travels after a playfield clean......... takes a bit of force to snap those targets

I haven't changed anything and regularly get over 100million, lots of nudging and bumping

Quoted from Rensh:

It's truly a masterpiece.
Had a good game this afternoon and the rush it gives

Its non stop action with great shots, love the left ramp shot.

Quoted from Rob_G:

I really like the game too, but I do see some room for improvement:
- Fix snake letter animation getting clobbered and not shown
- Add a lighting effect for spinner shots
- More interesting mystery awards. The current awards are not really much 'fun'.
- Flash the pop bumper flasher during bumper activity.
- Give us the ability to change the song on snake multiball to something else. Sad but true is... well... sad..
- Improve the hammer coil hold power if it can be done.
- Sync the hammer coil to the dmd animation (it doesn't seem in sync)
- Fix casket multiball callout getting cut off at casket
- Add shaker effect for cross rising out of ground to start of multiball
Rob

Awesome fixes and I know what you mean on most of these fixes.

Very happy with my pro. It's the first machine that actually makes my hands tired. It seems like you reach a point in a good game where it's multiball, multiball, multiball, plus fuel, lady justice, etc. I'd like to understand seek & destroy better though in a good game I end up getting it anyway.
One complaint: Mystery awards suck. It would be nice to see a random mini mode pop up in there, say a "One" mode where you have a couple seconds to make a specific shot or a combo of shots for five million points or so. Just something to keep it interesting.
Also, I know it's blasphemy but the sparky animation is a little long for me sometimes and I end up playing air guitar. A flipper skip for that animation would be rad as it's the only thing that slows down the game.

First time you get Spark MB you can't skip but after that flipper skip works for other Sparky MB in the same game........ you can also skip all the crank it up modes rules or just turn it off.

Another good bonus scoring option is at the start of every ball......... you hold the left flipper down for an easy bonus score everyone does that

BUT, if you plunge the ball gently enough so it doesn't go all the way around the loop and down to the flippers and hit the top target that is light in the 2 lanes up the top near the bumpers then the bonus is X2 its like an extra extra skill shot......... can be tough to get the right strength with the plunger.

#196 9 years ago
Quoted from Rob_G:

True, but you also need to maximize this with some regular super skill shots to boost the base skill shot value. Then go for the left (x2) or right (x4) top lanes... There's much better opportunity for skill shot points on the PRE/LE games if you disable the auto plunge on ball lock which I did on my game. This lets you have additional skill shots and allows the choice how you want to try and make them. I totally recommend this setting for PRE/LE owners.
Rob

Hmmm very interesting, I will try this out.

Cool Helmet Mato.!....Metallica rules so far.!! The artwork is unreal...And now, the rules, are so good..
and when done, will truly be a solid classic. !! anyone who doesn't have one, better get one,
before the Pro is a 6K machine...,and prem's are 8K... already maybe..

Prices have already gone up in Australia on Metallica

Pro $7200
Premium $9200 (same price as the launch of the LE)
LE $??? Sold out (as per usual)

Metallica is my favourite machine and the best machine I have played.

Quoted from Breadfan:

Asking Tallica owners if they're happy with their pin,is like asking a man if he's happy with his penis. Stupid question.

I'm happy with both and so is my wife........

Quoted from Rensh:

He must have installed a shaker

yes I do have a shaker installed, only way to go
