Quoted from TZpinboter:If I try playing this non nudging flipper rebound style I get burned, is this style game specific?
Lyman's actually nudging a fair bit on the dead flipper passes---more than I'd expect, actually---to get the ball to hop up into a trappable position or just to make a shot when the momentum of the ball wouldn't be enough.
Remember that he's also used to tight tournament-style tilts, so he's not going to shove the machine when a nudge will do the trick. He's nudging frequently, just not a long distance.
Also, he doesn't miss much, which helps with not needing to shove the machine.
