Quoted from Rarehero:What's causing the captive ball area to wear already?
Looks like the captive ball lock on TOTAN and those are always worn around the magnet from the magnet plunging and popping back up.

Quoted from Rarehero:Usually wear is caused by the ball grazing the surface in an abrasive way. I imagine wear would be caused from the ball hitting the wood lip if it's not flush with the magnet core. I don't see how the core itself going up and down would cause any surface wear.
I agree, as that would be the only contact that could cause it.
It is just a common thing on those types of mechanisms. When people get theirs, they will have to adjust it if they see the wear. I don't know how preemptive somebody can be on it as it is hard to detect if it is flush enough to not cause wear.
Quoted from Pimp77:On TOTAN the ball was sometimes not centered on the magnet when it pulled the ball though the playfield. The edges got worn and sometimes chipped. Probably not a big deal. Just put some Mylar around it cut to fit and it'll be fine.
I was going to write the same thing. That part needs a mylar ring.
Does anyone sell a laser cut (?) ready-to-install hole protector yet? Would like one!</blockquote
If you are talking mylar protectors:
Actually, now that I think about it, a vanishing magnet is bigger than 1.185" so this ring would not fit.
Quoted from AkumaZeto:I have a big F-ING PROBLEM WITH THIS GAME.
You like it too much and now have to save and get one?
If you have one, then the answer is: You are spending too much time on it and ignoring loved ones?
Quoted from TomGWI:Is that the trim that comes with the LE?
No, I believe these are the ones Pin-Protection are making. You can see his post on them on page 3 of this thread.
Quoted from tatman9999:This trim is from pinball life.
Good to know, they look very nice. Hopefully they will do other machines...like X-men.
