Quoted from nwpinball:Speaking of the Buzzcocks, did anyone catch them on their US tour earlier this year? They were great! I'd seen almost every 70s and 80s punk and I'd wanted to see except them. They played a pretty small club here too:
Yeah, I did. They were fantastic as usual. I've seen them a half dozen times at least. THe best was at a small club in the mid 90s, there were like maybe 50 people there. Pete Shelley was just chatting with us between songs. They played Orgasm Addict twice, haha. I met Pete after a different show and he was super nice, put up with my drunk rambling ass for like 45 minutes.
Quoted from o-din:We went to see Stiff Little Fingers about then.
The first two Stiff Little Fingers albums are among my favorite punk albums of all time.
Quoted from Hazoff:I can but play Bass 1st, then guitar and lastly Drums, heres a couple Halloween quick tunes I did to honor Dr.Loomis, theres no vocals but its me on Bass and Guitar a buddy is playing drums, I usually jam with bass and drums then I add guitar, its simple stuff but fun, all done pretty fast so don't judge too harshly.

Awesome, man! I am in a band here in the local hardcore scene and I love it. Huge fan of the 4th and 5th Halloweens too!
Quoted from nwpinball:The first two Stiff Little Fingers albums are among my favorite punk albums of all time.
It was a great show and I think they are still going strong.
Wasn't a big fan of Missing Persons but they had an awesome drummer in Terry Bozio.
"333" - Against Me!
Feeling like I need to fall down some stairs
Maybe lay face down in the river and float
Perfect weather for a head wound
Or studying sophisticated nuances of putting holes in your lungs
150 Marilyns, the war and the bomb
All reasons to be fearful but every day still new to wake up
333, say that they knew me
333, bring it all back to me
[Chorus]
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
I wanna be as close as I can get to you
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
I wanna be as close as I can get to you
[Verse 2]
I saw the 'Renown Orders of the Night' in person
Why would I ever meet that with irony or cynicism?
Planned views and elevations walking through your tarot garden
Visible mutations fading right before your fucking eyes
Cycles of death and regeneration, sensations of absence and loss
Wish you had been there by my side to see it all
333, say that they knew me
333, bring your love back to me
[Chorus]
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
I wanna be as close as I can get to you
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
I wanna be as close as I can get to you
[Outro]
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
All the devils that you don't know
Can all come along for the ride
I wanna be as close as I can get to you
Quoted from vid1900:"333" - Against Me
I can't stop listening to Against Me! My whole family listens to them & White Crosses is my 3 year old's favorite song ("I want to smash them all").
Quoted from vid1900:Megadeth is playing live on Seth Meyers in 10 minutes.
Wake the wife up.
I love Megadeth but like Metallica and Maiden after the first few albums they went to shit, Peace sells and Rust in Peace are for me the best Metal/Thrash albums ever made. I'm not saying there aren't good songs here and there on the albums after but for the most part its not very good. JMO
Quoted from Hazoff:I love Megadeth but like Metallica and Maiden after the first few albums they went to shit
Who cares?
Seth Meyers had 2 guests last night, Mariah Carey and Megadeth.
One was one of the largest selling female artist of all time, the other was some hasbeens from the 80s.
Only Megadeth played live.
Quoted from rooky79:Jesus fucking Christ. Looks like I'm heading home to see the folks for a 'holiday'
I'd be all over that just for Refused! Slayer and Jimmy Eat World would be nice too.
Quoted from Hazoff:I do, glad you like it but it still sucks.
No artist gets better near the end of their careers except Prince & Johnny Cash.
Think of the best selling artists of all time:
Elvis - best in 1950s
Michael Jackson - Sucked so bad after 2 "good" albums
Madonna - so awful now, even the gays don't like her.
Elton John - Best 1970s
Led Zeppelin - ITTOD and Coda were their worst
Pink Floyd - last year's release took the cake.
AC/DC - 70s
Queen - 70s
The Rolling Stones - 70s
Aerosmith - 70s
Paul McCartney - ugg
Metallica - Last good album was MOP
Rod Stewart - 70s
Bob Dylan -60s
David Bowie - 70s
Cheap Trick - 70s
Every artist puts out weaker and weaker material as time goes by.
You cherry pick the good tracks from latter work, and delete the crappy ones from your playlists.
It is how it is; get over it.
Quoted from vid1900:It is how it is; get over it.
NO.
also that's quite the list, not really into any of that but I do love Elvis and he was great till the end, by saying his 50's stuff was his best and including Elton John in ur list we can no longer discuss this matter, good luck to you sir.

I was using the "top selling pop artist of all time" website list, because I knew everyone would argue what the definition of **rock** was.

Not judging or anything, Elton is fine man.
Quoted from Hazoff:Not judging or anything, Elton is fine man.
I'm not sure how much of a man he is, but Goodby Yellow Brick Road is an epic set of wax.
Quoted from vid1900:Some tasty retro tones:

Speaking of scorpions, Scorpions is probably my 2nd favorite band. My favorite album was Lovedrive. They were also pretty heavy in the 70's before it was cool to sound like that.

Yeah, I used to love the Scorpions before they became a ballad machine.
Virgin Killer was my fave album (with the original cover art, of course)
The chorus of Catch Your Train always sounded insane to me:
