It’s on my GNR SE. the shiny metal posts used for the slings and a couple of other areas all have the issue, as well as the service rails. Other than this the game is minty and works great... no other games in my room exhibit this issue
My guess is that they use a cheap finish? The game is in a temperature controlled room.

I would say it's a "green (save the world)" finish - that's more likely than a cheap finish as you suggest. It probably actually costs MORE because of all the restrictions these days.
