I just came across something I've never seen before: a metal version of the regular flipper bushing:

Maybe the don't break like the plastic ones, but I'm still a bit skeptical as to how they perform in practice over time. Anyone know anything about these?

Interesting idea but I doubt it's going to work well in practice since anytime there is metal to metal contact in a machine you'll need to lube it at some point. One of the reasons (probably the only reason) flipper bushing are nylon is because of its self-lubricating qualities.

Those are pretty cool, may actually reduce friction like a bearing? But kinda overkill flippers aren't really rotating at a high speed and you would constantly have to lube them.

Seems like a bad idea. They're made of plastic for a reason...

I bet it will never crack like so many of the plastic ones do. Solving one problem, creating one or more new ones.

    Looks like a bad idea.

They do have Bronze self lubricating bushings, but those are not them.

The posted link only takes me to their main page and not to the item in question.

Terrible idea. Aluminum is not good bushing material.

Metal to metal contact is not good. I can see this wearing out very quickly.
