    Those Williams metal flippers are cast alluminium or some alloy of it, you can see the mould joint on the ends of them. The steel shaft is cast in. If you machined them, you would have to find some way of permanently locating the shaft in the bat.

    They were not chrome plated, just the casting polished. Get a dull one and Brasso it, you will easily see there is no chrome.
