My met pro sparky opto switch goes of randomly throughout the game. Idk why some times it has streaks where it goes of a bunch of times and then it won't for a while. I finally switch test and I can't replicate it. The opto switch works fine. Any way to adjust??

Quoted from LTG:

Reseat all of it's connectors for the opto a couple times. That should clear it up.
LTG : )

It tried reseating them and it's still acting up. It's gotten worse overtime. At one point, Everytime I hit the flipper it set off sparky opto

Thanks for the responses. I'll try your suggestions tomorrow. Game has less then 500 plays so I hope the opto isn't already bad.

Sucks, I had 410 mil on my first ball then I realized how bad the opto was when I hit the flipper button So I just reset the game lol.

I had the same problem on my premium. It turned out to be the right side metal divider with the hole cut into it was being bent backwards a little and just enough to partially interrupt the beam of light. Bent it back upright and it's worked fine since.

Definitely sounds like a beam-breaking issue. Make sure is aligned properly and nothing is in the way. If it's aligned such that the beam is only just catching the receiver, then the slightest vibration will push it off the edge, break the signal and trigger the switch.

Awesome thanks guys! Pinside is the best. Just stuck at work on a Saturday unfortunately so I won't be able to try anything yet.

Are you sure its the opto? Could it be the switch between his feet?

I checked that switch and it's not even close to touching contacts. That's what I was originally hopefully it just was.

(Wow just noticed my auto correct of opto to option in the title lol)

Ding ding ding!!!! I just bent the ball guides next to sparky in a little with some plyers and it's all good. Sometimes it's just the simplest solution that's right. Thanks!!!!
