I'm brand new to the hobby. Metallica pro LED is my first pinball I've ever owned. Just got it NIB yesterday for my bday. Everything was working great for 24 hours then I got a message on the dmd saying it couldn't locate all the balls. Kept searching for a few minutes trying to find all the balls, but never found them all. So I took the glass off and popped the balls out to make sure all 4 were in the trough there and not stuck in a scoop or something.
I popped four balls out into the shooter lane... but with the balls came an LED light! Just plopped out into the shooter lane. Oh, hello there. (picture attached taken just seconds after this very exciting moment).
When I started the machine back up - it worked fine - no more ball search. I guess an LED got loose in the trough and was messing up the ball locator thingy (that's the technical term right? Did I mention I'm new to hobby?)
Everything was fine after that, then a ball hit something on the playfield a few minutes later (not sure what the ball hit as I was looking at the flipper) and lo and behold I see an LED skittering across the play field and then coming to a stop in the middle of the playfield - exactly like the one from the trough. Where did you come from, little friend? Opened up the glass, took out the LED. Started up the game again, everything is fine. Played for another 30 mins or so. No problems.
But I have no idea where those LED's came from. There aren't any obvious lights missing that I can see, but I don't know the game well enough to necessarily know what should be lit and when.
Can someone please help me figure out how to tell what LED's are missing (and how to put them back in)? Is there a simple diagnostic in the menus that will tell you what LED's are missing? Again, I'm super super green to the hobby so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
