Hi guys,

Since I got my MET (not LED version) it has been having an issue which is driving me crazy:
Whenever a lamp on column 1 is lit, the lamp #57 is slightly flashing. It has a non-ghosting LED from comet
Same in column 2 with lamp #58.
I've tested the diods for all lamps on those rows (except snake and start which don't seem to have one) and they all test good.

Tried changing both sockets (along with their diods) and LEDs but of course, it did not change anything.

Any idea of what could cause this behaviour on those lamps?

(it's a pro met that I switched to LEDs but was originally with regular bulbs)

Does the flashing stop if you install diodes on those lamps?

they already have diods
They all test good.

You said snake and start don't seem to have one...

Oops you meant those
No idea, I can try

So, I tried to add a diod on the start button lamp.

On one way it did nothing, when reversed it did prevent the other led to light up, but it also completely stopped the start button light.

Anyone has any idea ?

Up

And start + snake do have diods,; they located further away from the socket

I would check lamps 60-64 very closely. Also, does it have the same problem if you switch back to regular bulbs? If not, it may just be an inherent problem. I've had non-ghosting LEDs on my LOTR ghost as well.

Yep, with regular bulbs, no ghosting.
Hmm weird cause I have no ghosting on my Lotr.
Did not have any as well on Sopranos, family guy...

This is why I am really surprised with this issue and can't manage to pin point it.

Would anyone have the schematics of the board?

You should be able to download the manual for free at this link. Not sure how much detail on the board there is.

So does it also do this if the bottom pop bumper is lit? How about the right grave lane standup light? Those are past lamp 57 in that column.

You might want to check U13, the 74hct245 on the power driver board.

So you're right, past lamp 57 it does not occur.
Should I change U13?

Could still be the chip, but the fact that it doesn't happen past lamp 57 in the column makes me think it's a short in a socket. Get a bright light and magnification and look for a piece of metal inside lamp 57's socket. If nothing there, check the whole column's sockets, inside and out.

Will do, many thanks fot the insight!

Solved.
Was due to this mod, having no diods in the sockets:

Glad you got it solved! Thanks for following up with the solution.
