OP is all worked up over the wrong use of abbreviation.

The one to get pissed off about is 'parm' for parmesan.

    'Guac' is another.

I dont know where it came from or what generation, but they sure do love to use them in food marketing, so the masses will say the same.

    Quoted from Goronic:

Oh crap, I use both of those ...

    Lots of people do.

I just never understood it, and I just so happen to be a terrible, horrible no good millenial, born in 84 (although I relate more so to the working class Gen Xer)

Ya know, cuz this stuff matters.
    Oops!

    Quoted from gambit3113:

As a card carrying GenX'r, if you are bothered by things like the words "guac" and "parm", I assure you that you do not.

A slight annoyance at best for the sake of, ya know, discussion.

I claim no "card" to any group, nor will I assume other peoples situations. From my experience theres alot of grey area and never really belonged to either classification, really. Kinda proud of that actually. The fewer of any of these silly card carrying member groups I belong to, the better.

    Quoted from TheLaw:

I think "Parm" gets a pass becasue "Chicken Parm" has been colloquially used for a long time.
Whilst I was typing this my wife said "Obvi" instead of obviously...goddamn Melinnials.

    "Mac" gets a pass IMO.
