My RX had a problem when I first got it where there was this wire hanging in back of the screen that was causing issues like you describe. Once the wire was moved, my problems went away and the touch screen acted normal.
Maybe I can snap a pic tonight.
Totally forgot about this until I turned mine on today.
My problem was the ribbon cable with the blue line. I don't have a before picture that shows where it was. It was running behind the screen or something. It was causing calibration issues. The guy I bought it from figured it out. Routed it away from the back of the screen and that made things perfect.
