Hey, did we ever get word if the higher resolution and color implemented on MMR was going to make it into the other B/W DMDs?

There are no plans other than for the future remakes ... ColorDMD is the solution for all other titles ...

Thanks for posting. Will there be a way to retrofit originals with the color gear if it's one that gets remade?
No, the Color on the remakes is a software/hardware system that takes advantage of a close integration with the running code on a new hardware platform so would require at least a retrofitted hardware (MPU portion) to even possibly consider, which is something we are not considering as this work is from Chicago Gaming under agreement for the remake games only. ColorDMD takes a different approach which adapts to the existing system and intercepts and interprets, which is better suited for existing games and far faster to implement and takes less work than the effective redesign of frames required for the remake color which is higher definition ...

Pretty sure, based on results, that the CG system just watches the output and overlays graphics. ColorDMD *COULD* do that, they just don't because they don't want any licensing issues.
A system that couldn't be replicated would be actually injecting the HD assets in, rather than using the originals, before building the display so that everything could be HD -- fonts and animations entirely. Given that the CG system runs via emulation, I expected that to be the way they went. They did not.
