While retention has been good overall for the long wait, some message batches have 60+% of people sell their game or not bother responding, so the list numbers aren't a great measure.
I also have one full time (as possible) helper (Marissa), and one occasional part time (Chris), so after expenses, taxes, etc., it's not as great as it seems for this set (particularly at the initial price point as each set takes nearly 15 hours for the hands on labor [had hoped to reduce that more]).
Margin is much lower on these than something like the Elvira set, but I gravitate toward what I'm most passionate about rather than what may make the most--fortunately the support has been there for what I'm happiest to produce.
---- As for parents (if curious)...I initially worked toward law, what my mother was leaning me toward (unfortunately lost her to cancer in 2008 when I was 23), and I did excel in early aspects of that, encouraging me, but I left law school after my first semester, and that was a good decision . I grew up doing vintage Ferrari restoration (family business), and that's what my father wanted me to continue with (worked for him a few times after college as well, but I was miserable).
Struggled many times trying to do things on my own, and very lucky to have the support here to do something I love to do.
Though I do hope to structure things going forward in a way that allows me to tackle more projects.
