Quoted from Medisinyl:Likely going to still be on V22 code as I worry about messing anything up before SFGE (haven't updated an AMH before, and it sounds like a laptop may be necessary to make it easier, which I don't have
I know I used a laptop the last time I updated mine, but for some reason my own laptop wouldn't connect to AMH and I had to borrow someone elses anyway! I'll say it's worth the trouble to udate to V23, as that's a pretty substantial update that Ben rolled out long after production ended. It adds the 'Bumps in the Night' mini-wizard mode.
Quoted from P1nhead:True. Couple this with the offer from benheck and the machine will really shine (possible new playfield with more fitting artwork...
Personally, I wouldn't bother swapping in a different playfield, especially on such a rare game. I would love to see an all new backglass though. Maybe with a big spooky house or something.
Quoted from herg:Edit: As I look at all these doors, it looks like all of them except mine and dnapac have cool looking bent and rusty bars. I'm also thinking I might be able to add some color (ragged bottom edge, window frame, hinges, etc) using filament changes at the right points.
Edit 2: OMG, that's just brown insulated wire.
Wow! I had noticed this too and was wondering why mine looked different. I have AMH #11 and my bars look like they are made of brass.
Quoted from Medisinyl:Seems most don't have that post, but I think Herg had that issue and removed it (game #1). I was assuming it must have gotten removed from the build early on. If yours is an early game, that may make sense.
Yes - AMH #11. I ordered AMH when sales first opened up in 2014. I'll see about removing that post then.
Quoted from herg:Yes, mine had that post.
Like you, I didn't realize it was in the way until after the back panels had been placed. I couldn't remove the plastic because the back panels trapped it. I had to remove the entire backboard piece.
Yup, that's exactly the situation, so I took a little break from the install for the day.
It took me most of the day today, but I got this all loaded! I ran into some trouble with the Hellevator install where the clear plastic guard on my AMH would not line up with the screw holes on the mod. I cut a piece of cardboard to size to substitute, since you can't see it. The left side of the Morgue Theater also wants to slowly ride up from the vibration of the VUK, so I'll have to figure something out to hold that side down. Otherwise, it's looking great. Almost like a new pin.
