I am considering buying one of the above machines NIB. I see they are consistently rated in the top 3 but have not had the opportunity to play either.

I am a pinball fan from way back and only just now in my 50's have the room and finances to purchase some.

I have only played the originals once or twice as they were very rare to find in the wild here. I have had much more game play on TZ & AF which I think are both great.

I am interested in peoples opinion on the two machines with regards to

1/ Future resale value - I am thinking LE AFMR may hold better than SE MMR but interested in others opinions

2/ Long-term playability - this is a tough one as never play either of these new and cannot remember the originals that well.

Interested to here all your thoughts....

That's correct. There is also very little difference between the two (colored armor and shaker motor on LE)

I think the OP is right and the AFMr LE will hold value a bit better. I own both (standard MMr and a SE AFMr) and love them both. If I *HAD* to pick just one to keep it would be MMr. I like the total package more on it.

Hey man a year ago i dealt with this same very question. I ultimately went with afmr le. Better package, the xl screen and the powder coat is great and the topper is amazing. I bought my mmr later down the road

Never buy a pin you’ve never played before, I’ve made that mistake before. You definitely need to put some time on anything before you buy. Find some on location, find a fellow pinsider nearby or go to a pinball show. I personally think both games are great and are easy to sell, but you need to play them yourself before spending so much money. I’ve owned an original MM and currently own an AFMr. Have fun!
