My MMR had the same issue when delivered. There is a switch inside the castle, easily accessible from the swinging smaller door on the left side of the drawbridge. If this switch isn't working or is bent so it does not register, then your castle won't explode. I managed to bend the switch with my fingers and it now works almost all of the time. Also, you can test the switch through the control panel and confirm if it is registering. If the switch is completely bad, then contact Planetary Pinball parts department. They can send you a replacement, which is free if you purchased an MMR.

Quoted from pbaron2:

Got a hint of green battery acid on my battery holder. You think a little vinegar will clean that off. I'm waiting on my remote battery holders arrive . Is there anything better then vinegar for cleaning acid off the boards.

Do not use vinegar, which is an acid. A little dissolved baking soda may help but be careful not to get any on the components.

Quoted from pintechev:

A 50/50 mix of Vinegar and water is a good and generally agreed upon solution to neutralize the corrosion and battery leakage. Yellow mustard is also a good solution. Vinegar is a mild acid, mixed with the water, it does a good job of neutralizing the mess...

That only works for alkaline batteries. Just be sure to understand what type of battery caused the corrosion. Most contain sulphuric acid.
