I have a mmr and the castle gate won’t stay open consistently. It will open and then drop down right away. Is the gate specific to the Chicago games versions or will a beefed up original gate be my best option? Any help is appreciated.

The coil for it has three lugs. I would go over solder joints, especially the thin wires from coil to coil lugs. A cracked wire or poor joint could cause this.

Then follow the coil wires to the driver board it connects to. Reseat the connector. If that doesn't do it, then remove the screws holding the driver board to the huge board under the playfield, lift the driver board off, no need to remove the connectors. Then reseat the driver board, push on the ten pins going into the huge board from the driver board. Replace the screws. See if that helps.

Your gate is fine, and a copy of the original. What powers it is the issue. Unless the collar that fastens it to the plunger in the coil has broken free.

Thank you for your time, I think it may be the collar issue. I will try all of that and see if it works again. It goes up fine, just doesn’t stay up. Lol that sounds bad. I appreciate your time.

That is why I suspect the coil wiring. Three lugs just like a flipper coil. Power and hold. You lost the hold.

Viagra for any other problems.

His was a MM. Yours is a MMR :

Please follow the coil wires to the driver board the coil plugs onto.

That board, you don't need to remove the connectors. Remove the screws holding it to the huge board below. Remove the board from the ten pin connector it plugs into. Reseat it into the huge board and along that row of ten pins push the nubs in tight. Replace the screws.

That should fix it.

Does anyone have a similar issue with their Castle Gate not closing all the way? I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the gate to fix this. It works just fine during game play, just doesn't close all the way. This is my first MMr and not sure if it's supposed to be this way or not. I've seen pictures of others that look like the close all the way.

Do you mean the drawbridge ?

If so on MM and MMR, it leans forward a little like yours in the picture.

Yes the drawbridge is what I was referring too. Thank you for the help!
