Quoted from Slate:Yikes 12.5k... depressing. Who would pay that for a routed machine? What has this hobby come to.
Holy *$%!

my exact thoughts!
Welp... Just added another machine to my " Can't Afford Even Heavily Routed" list ! This definitely isn't the Average Bill's hobby I might as well quit.

Quoted from txstargazer3:Or you could get a WOZ ECLE and an X-Men for the same money. []
Yes i truly believe the current success the new pins on the block are having is going to reflect on the A list games halting in price and even dropping.
People are just gonna give up chasing these titles at the prices there at in favor of a NIB or even two!
Lots more exciting pins yet to come!

For the most part isn't that what happened with X-men?
Quoted from Slate:Yikes 12.5k... depressing. Who would pay that for a routed machine? What has this hobby come to.
It's a starting point on price, he is taking offers and trades.
Every MM is routed, unless it's HUO. Fully restored MM were routed.
Not really sure on the market on this, if no offers I'm sure there will be a price drop....
Ramps were perfect, no broken plastics, new DMD and fairly new coin door. It's not a junk machine. It's a very nice unmolested original that has been completely torn down and shopped out completely.
A HUO one sold on ebay for $15k. What do you think it's worth ? Remember it's a retail store that spent 3 full days going over the entire game inside and out including the boards and all cold solder pins to bullet proof it with a 30-day warranty. It's a very well cared for route game.
Yesterday he was offered $7500 + 6-8 late 70-80's SS pins. I don't know the titles but he declined the offer.

I have. NIB from now on.
Looking at ebay history a HUO sold for $15k and a clean original routed one with some mods sold for $13599. So it seems that's the going rate on this.
Again, not my game, just the messenger helping the guy sell and host pics. I said start at $11,495 and see what happens. He priced it, not me.
That sure looks like the same machine that Pinball Warehouse in MN was hocking on RGP 6 months ago for 8.5K.
It has the same flipper wear spots that one did.

Not the same game, Tim Nabours the Op has owned this almost 9 years and operated it at the Lakeville MN theater most of it's whole time he owned it. It's had an easy life in the theater with no smoking.

If it had been listed for 11,500 it would have been sold by now for 10,500. The PF wear will scare off many. IMHO this is worth 10k easy in the current market, especially since it sounds like wayne will be selling MM screened playfields in the near future.
I still say it is wishful thinking if you honestly think that any top A list games are magically going to come down in price a couple thousand when WOZ and Xmen come out. It is not like the collectors that have them in their collections are liquidating them to make room for the new games (plenty of other lessor titles to clear out first). If that is the case, I will buy anything on the A list for 20% less than current market any day of the week and I am sure there will be a line of people in front of me looking to buy them also.
Quoted from BillinIndiana:This definitely isn't the Average Bill's hobby I might as well quit.
sorry man, it's not rock collecting for sure.
There's still, literally, hundreds of good-great titles out there for 1500$ or less.
You don't HAVE to own a mm, afm, mb etc to be happy owning pinball.
So my advice to you, is get over it.
I still thought MM was in the 7-8k range? Now, overnight at 12k+?
Like some have said, the best deal in pinball is NIB stern. You're the first to open and play it, and they've been knocking some solid pins out overall.
It can be tough to buy a nib pin for 4 or 5k. That's a good used truck or car. In fact, I was looking at a real nice 02' LS1 Camaro for as much as a Tron cost. Tron won out, this time. But 12k+ for a MM? Think about it. That's a newer style Mustang GT. Car values go down, and pins have been up, yes. It's just a reality check.
''That sure looks like the same machine that Pinball Warehouse in MN was hocking on RGP 6 months ago for 8.5K.

And if that is true, this tells all of us to just dump our collections, buy a MM, sit on it for 6 months and the price will jump up 4 grand more.
Quoted from Nibbles:This hobby, getting nucking futs...
Take RawleyD's advice... Get Over IT !
No way that's the same machine Al was pedaling, Al's had WAY more flipper grind than this one...so I guess Al's router was a steal at $8.5 compared to this...

Absolutely, completely, and totally agree.
Face it everyone: MM and AFM are your crude-oil pins - skyrocketing in price for no apparent reason and not coming down anytime soon.

I'm too broke to take advise, I'll stick with common sense, fuh'g that!

This MM is definitely not the one Al had for sale.
This one until very recently was at the Lakeville Muller Theater.

No matter where it was, I can tell you where it won't be - my house.

I doubt you'll see a DMD game for $1500 sooner then you think.. Maybe some old SS machines.. Just my opinion, but I think all the prices are going through the roof for no apparent reason.

I just bought a 1997 Mustang GT for $3600 last week, cold air intake and all custom Magnaflow exhaust ready to go. It was a great deal for the money. Really f'd up when you can get a later model Mustang GT cheaper than an average newer pinball

I dunno dude...I got XF, JM, and TFTC all for under $1500 (I lie, TFTC was $1600)..
ASKING PRICES typically aren't $1500, but when the cash hits the table, a $1500 pin becomes a "all I got is $1300"... "I'll take $1300!!!" pin real fast...
one year ago at pagg there was a perfect afm for 4,500. a monster bash that was just as nice for 6,000. now look at the prices on these. less than 2 years ago i picked up lw3 for 750 and people told me that was high. now i see them at 1,300. its gotten way out of control.
Quoted from shacklersrevenge:Has the price on Cactus Canyon exploded as well? Last i checked, that was 9-11k avg
They seem to still be in that range from what I have seen
Quoted from shacklersrevenge:Has the price on Cactus Canyon exploded as well? Last i checked, that was 9-11k avg
Not sure, don't really see them for sale that much. While in very limited quantities, the software/rules being incomplete has always been the thing keeping it down. It's still a rare collectible in our hobby so I believe it would be higher now, just like all other top end collectible pins (IE BBB).

Thanks for the clarification. Ill admit that was the first thing I thought as well. Did Pinball Warehouse even end up selling that? I would think they probably did.
Quoted from shacklersrevenge:I still thought MM was in the 7-8k range?
You thought wrong.
I wouldn't say this if it was the actual owner trying to sell here...but since it is not: buying a routed MM over two new NIB's (WOZ, AC/DC, Tron, XMen - take your pick) is truly nuts. I like MM...great game in fact...but I wouldn't take a HUO only MM over any of two of those four machines I mentioned...much less a routed but "plays fine" machine.
Just wait till the JPop games start rolling out NIB...people will necro this thread laughing.

I hope so
Quoted from the_one:So I would see this MM around 6000 to 6500 USD only
You're loco brutha!
I will buy ALL the MM's at $6500!
Serious too, if you want to sell me a MM at $6500 I will send you the cash today!
Quoted from the_one:12500 USD <img title="" src="/bbpress/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pinside/icon_redface.gif">
Look to my gameroom pics, my fully restored MM where all ramps, flaps, screws, posts, etc are 24 k gold plated has been sold for less ! I installed new Cabdecal, original playfield without any wearings have been clearcoated, etc ... So I would see this MM around 6000 to 6500 USD only !
Ah yes, if only we could only go back in time. Some markets move fast on some pinheads.......
If Rick runs out of money for the supply of 6-6500 MM's, I will take the rest. CASH BUYER. Thanks.
My 2 cents.....the owner can ask whatever he/she wants. $7k cash would not touch mine, I was offered $11k and still own it. Problem isn't money, problem is my wife loves the game. Problem is finding one for sale......

This is the thing that I was surprised about with MM / AFM exploding in price - I always thought that their prices were tempered by the NIB titles. I understand how these two might be able to command a $1k to $2k price above a NIB machine - they are consistent, long term route earners, and they are both really popular titles - but, when you can get two NIB LE machines for about the same price, it baffles me.
I do think that if we see more high quality machines from all manufacturers (JJP, Stern, even JPop) we'll eventually see the prices on a lot of the high end pop and come back down to $1k to $2k above NIB prices. I LOVE MM, but I'd take 90% of the Sterns from the last 5 years over one any day if price had no consideration and I wasn't selling.
Having said all that, good luck with the sale. It honestly doesn't seem priced that crazy to me.
