This is a ball lifter from 1957 Wms Hi-Hand.

There is a rubber button on the piece, but nothing bumps up against it. Either I’m missing a part or... I dunno... what is it there for?

Also, there was an old flat piece of rubber in the cabinet that looks like it might have belonged on the part of the ball lifter that raised the ball. Did ball lifers come with a rubber mitt on them to protect the balls?

I was about to post the same, give the game some love.

@phil-lee
I’m putting together one good machine from three. The one pictured above is not the lucky winner; it just has the better ball lifter.

The machine I’m working on is all vacuumed, cleaned and waxed. Everything electrical works, including the coin mechanism.

Now that I’ve addressed everyone's indignation, can someone pls answer the questions posted?

Pictures: pf before cleaning, all lit up & working before cleaning, all cleaned up.

It's hard to tell from your photo but I suspect there should be a rubber bumper of some kind on both ends of the ball lifter's swing to keep the lifter from crashing into the frame. I don't have a Williams lifter but here's video of a Gottlieb lifter that might give you a better idea: https://www.funwithpinball.com/exhibits/small-boards-page-2#BallLifter

Found it. Marcos has it.

In case someone in the future is looking for the the rubber grommets for Williams ball lifter from the same era... the ones Marcos has do not fit. But a good hardware store may have them. A local Ace Hardware (Elliott’s) had them. No luck at Home Depot or Lowe’s.
