My distributor just told me last night my STLE will be here late next week. Doesn't seem likely, but that's what I was told. Problem is, without enough info, I'm not sure I want it.

Quoted from QuarterGrabber:So you got the same news from Starburst (Cineplex) as I did then.
Yep.
I was at Starburst today, told them they will be keeping my STLE until Stern tells me what the f'n laser thing does. Even then, I still may bail on it. Btw, when your there, check out the balls in the pro in the showroom. They are dimpled like golf balls.
Re: Stern Marketing Dept.--- If I'm ever at a show and someone in a Stern T-shirt introduces himself as Jody, I'm gonna punch'em in the mouth.
Quoted from QuarterGrabber:Whoa, what happened there??
Ya, maybe that was a little too strong. Just my overall frustration with Stern bubbling over.
Quoted from John_I:Maybe Stern doesn't even know what the final product will do at this point. Better than promising the moon and then having to backpedal...
What's wrong with telling me what your product is and what it does? Then let me make an informed decision whether to purchase your product or not?
They tell you ST has a "Laser Starfield Projector" and it's sooo cool and never done before. Everyone is waiting for more details, then Gary gives a bumbling, rambling speech at Expo? No new info? WTF was that!!
Lay out thousands of $$ to take home a NIB machine and not know what it does or if they will finish the software? Sorry, not gonna happen with their track record.
I can't imagine another company, pinball related or not, behaving like Stern does.
Quoted from cal50:Which is worse marketing ?
A) Having a real game to see what it is and does shortly ( matter of weeks).
B) Making promises: delivery date , finished code , best ever made sans the GI, etc., prepay and wait years to get.
I would rather see a finished game then judge it over promises and a long wait.
This is not a Stern vs. JJP debate, don't try to make it one.
Quoted from cal50:prepay and wait years to get.
Any other company you might be referring to?
One internet tough-guy sending copyright infringement threats halfway around the world while not producing one machine can hardly be considered a pinball manufacturer.
Quoted from cal50:Remember the Wayne / MM remake ?
