Heh, got news for you Sunshine. Stern, in whatever iteration you're looking at, prior to 1999 was all about cloning, copying, ripping off the competition. Innovation was no where in site when they were making blatant copies of the Bally driver boards, etc. It's Stern's MO and always has been.
Once the shutdown in 2000 happened, there was no longer a mainstream manufacturer to copy from. That created some product like Monopoly, Striker Extreme, Big Buck Hunter, etc.
I will give points to Stern for *surviving* the aughts, but please, please do not rank them as an innovator or a high quality manufacturer. They've always been about doing it as cheaply as possible. That's not necessarily a bad thing, heck I go to Walmart from time to time too.
