Tonight I hooked up my Medisinyl Frank mod and Crypt mod. Both are lighted, designed to hook into the pin power system. This voids the Spooky warranty. Plus, I expertly fried my pin out by being 1 pin off when hooking up the topper. Spooky and SpookyLuke really helped me out with my F-up. So, I decided to never use the pins power system to power my lighted mods. The modern/new pins are so different from the past. It’s just not worth the risk for some extra lights. But I love lighted mods. Some pinsiders suggested an additional Mean Well power supply. It cost about $20. I ran the power cord to a multi plug controlled thru Alexa. When I say “Alexa, turn on the arcade.” The pins and lighted mods come on at the same time...but the mods are powered totally independent of the pin...no risk in causing damage to the pin. I love mods, and these done by Medisinyl are really cool...but with the new pins, if I was a modder with lighted mods, I would tell my buyers to run them thru a Mean Well power supply...even though it may lose some game integration.
