So, I'm in a little dilemma on what to do. Either I sell my TOTAN to make room for MBrLE, or I buy a new playfield and swap it out. This will probably also involve getting the side rails, lock bar and other stuff gold plated, all a lot of work and $. It's a real nice original TOTAN with a great unfaded cab. It's in great shape minus the ghosting and all on the inserts, which doesn't bother me much but ide like to make it perfect. Then comes MBr, and I'm def on the train with everyone wanting to get one. I only have room for two machines, I also have a very nice TSPP. Just wanted pinsiders take on what they would do if they were me. Thanks dudes.

Here's a pic of the TOTAN. Great shape with colordmd and a bunch of upgrades and mods.

TOTAN kinda sucks. Sell it and get an MBrLE.

What must suck is having that pingulp in your business when playing

Sell TOTAN. Replacing the playfield will be costly and labor intensive, yielding a marginal difference that won't make playing the game more enjoyable. If you're on the fence about selling it now, you probably will be about 3 weeks after the playfield swap. Sell TOTAN, buy MB, you'll save money, have a perfect(ish) condition game, it will be new and exciting to you too, making it more fun for less money!

Sell TOTAN
Buy MBr
Buy TOTANr or buy back original TOTAN at a lower price when TOTANr is announced
Profit

Do you plan on keeping ToTAN forever? If so, go ahead and make it as nice as you want. There's no guarantee there will be ANY more remakes, let alone ToTAN (there probably WILL be more if they're making $$$ on them, but what do we know?)

You can get a MBr down the road. They're gonna make a lot of them, and there'll be plenty of HUO games for sale in the future.

Those will be 2 of the last games i ever sell when we finally whittle down the collection.

Trying to make it even nicer.

Keep your totan. MBr will flood the market soon. There will likely never be a totan r and its demand will continue to climb as people come into this hobby. I miss mine. Yours looks beautiful. I saw this alternate somewhere on the internet

I was actually in the same situation and sold my Totan yesterday to a friend in order to be able to finance a part of the cost of the MBR LE.

I may be odd man out in this thread as I think I'd rather have a TOTAN than a MB - all things being even. I've enjoyed playing both, but have never owned either. I've always thought TOTAN was the more appealing looking game though.

That said, given the amount of work involved in swapping out a playfield though, I could easily opt for a shiny new MBr instead.

It's a hard decision man.

If you like JPop tables, keep it. I think saving the Princess is harder than Monsters of Rock, but the Monsters speak to some people, and not to others. For me, it was a no brainer when the wife said “Let’s buy a MBrLE” while we were in Wheeling. When your wife green lights a $8.3K pin expenditure on a MBrLE, you don’t walk, but run to the nearest distributor and slap down your Black Card on a $1K non refundable deposit. As I tend to like playing Totan, I expect someday to own one, be it TOTANrLE or a nice lost wood refurbed players machine.
