Hi Bakushan,

Go with the custom blades!
I used http://www.ckdesignonline.com/ I told Chad what I wanted and he created it.(http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/r911-resto-started)

He had it printed and it turned out great! Very high quality material.
I had a "vision" of what I wanted created. Chad nailed it!

Quoted from FirebrandX:

What did he print it on and did you give him dimensions I take it?

Hi FirebrandX,

It is printed on some type of 3M product. Very nice vinyl. I have to router out the outside lane to show off the logo. It was intended. The left side has the buildings on fire. You really can't see it because of the building. (This was not intended!) The blades run about 100.00 to print (not including design fees) It cost me 200.00 for the design work and about 100.00 to print the blades but that incuded a cop car. The design work included new decals for the cab back box too.
Yes, I gave him the dimensions. I had the whole cab done except the front.

I am having him do another set of blades for a "Lost World Jurassic Park".

Milton,
Was the vinyl self-adhesive on one side, like a peel-and-stick type deal? I was thinking about doing something like that for my pinball machine, only I'd do all the design work myself and just have them print off the image in that vinyl.

Correct! Peel n Stick vinyl. No fade. Very high quality.
Expensive. IF you are looking for something cheaper try: http://www.gameongrafix.com/categories/all-products/page-105/

Cheaper but use a laminate.

Cool thanks for all the info. I don't mind shelling out extra for the vinyl. I'm a graphic artist by trade, so I intend to recreate the cabinet artwork to look exactly like the original paint job. I am thinking of rebuilding the backbox since there's some water damage/swelling of the particle board on the backside. Then I'd just used the vinyl stickers to place the artwork on the rebuilt backbox.

Yes, that's what I did. Took high quality pics of the art, the Chad removed scratches, adjusted color etc.
Then had 'em printed.

Really looks nice. Maverick is a very underated game IMO. Very good artwork and great game play. Just never want to buy the DMD again.

I hear that! I have a Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. Same DMD. Same expense.
Rumor has it there will be a replacement l.e.d. unit soon.?!
