Put new optos in Maverick when ball 1 is supposed to lock it shows ball locked on dmd but it drops the ball. In test mode the switches (double?) hit. Any help is appreciated

Sounds like problem with optos inside the boat. Did you replace those? Might be out of alignment. You should try posting in Maverick fan thread for greater visibility.
Is the double hit caused by the ball rolling past the top Opto prior to tripping the bottom Opto? Check the switch matrix and make sure you don't have a row or column problem. I had an Opto problem some years ago & fixed it by swapping driver boards between Maverick & Baywatch. After the swap both games worked correctly. I think one of the Opto positions in the matrix was unused on Baywatch.

3 pairs so 6 total optos (3 emitters and 3 receivers). 1 pair at paddle wheel entrance. 2 pair in the Lauren Belle.

I’m new to optos. What the the difference emitters and receivers...ball just sits on the wire form after the paddle wheel.
