Quoted from Mattyk:Attention all cowboys! My game seems to lose track of balls. This always happens in 4 ball multiball. When 2 balls drain and 2 remain on the playfield the game thinks multiball is over.
There may have been a time when my son was playing 3 ball and 2 balls drained the game thought the game was over and flippers died (it was ball 3).
Any ideas? Could I have a bad trough switch? The issue only occurs during a multiball
Hi Mattyk, I'm relatively new to my Maverick and have only owned it for about 4 months. I'm also new to pinball machine repairs. I have only been doing that for a year.
I would remove all of your pinballs from the machine and then get into the diagnostics menu. I would try and get into the switch test mode and start verifying if the trough switches and Lauren Belle switches are all working properly.
If I remember correctly, the trough switches have diodes on them. So look them over to make sure all of the diodes and wires are soldered up.
On my Maverick I experienced the VUK solenoid not working. It ended up being that one leg of the diode had come unsoldered.
Hopefully, this will get you started and you can post some follow up questions to help trouble shoot.
I've found this trouble shooting website very helpful.
