I recently updated the 2 display roms in my Maverick. Unfortunately, now I get images and text on the DMD freezing up during a game and sometimes in attract mode also.
I got the roms from Pinballrom.com They sent out another 2 when I told them about this but the second set did the same thing. Do the larger displays need a different type of rom? I read something about 120 nanosecond for these rather than 150ns.
When I put the original roms back in the display works perfectly. Anyone had this problem?

Quoted from johnwartjr:

What cpu rev are you running? With what display rev?</blockquoteI

I'm not sure what you mean?

I bought the cpu, 3 sound roms and 2 display roms as a set. The display roms say 401, the cpu says 404 & the sound ones just have Pinballrom.com on 'em with U7, U17 & U21.

Quoted from johnwartjr:

pinballrom.com is Dave Astill's site. Dave is a good guy and I'm sure he will make good on this transaction though.

Yes, he's a good guy and tried to help me out.

Quoted from the4horse:

They sent out another 2 when I told them about this but the second set did the same thing.

He indicated that going through customs might've damaged the roms...who knows.
It's interesting that the display roms for Maverick need to be a faster speed.

The display roms have this written on them;
M27C4001
-10FI
58SHZ
103.5L (could be 1035L...my eyes aren't the best)
Singapore
ST(brand)

Quoted from Astill:

Hi they are labelled as -100 chips , i have sold these without issue but contact me . I have several tubes of nos st 27c4001 -100 and some that are from ebay . I think its possible the ones i bought from ebay are labelled incorrectly from the manufacturer.

Yep, this was the issue. The two sets of roms I bought were labelled incorrectly and the latest set sent out by Dave work perfectly. All this time I thought there was something wrong with my machine
Bit of bad luck getting two sets of roms that wouldn't work, hey?
