I just picked up my first pin (#Maverick) and it plays great; however, there seems to be a delay in ball launch during Angels Revenge, Runaway Stagecoach and Bank Heist modes. The machine captures the ball during the skill shot, the counter starts counting down from 30 sec then after approximately 10 secs the machine goes through the "lost ball cycle" then kicks out the ball from the launch ramp. The game plays as normal but shorts you 10 seconds.

Anyone have similar problems or is this normal?

    Thanks in advance

I'd suspect where the ball is sitting, that switch is bad.

The game is going into ball search because it isn't seeing the ball.

I can't remember how this game plays, but the ball capture inside the Lauren Belle uses opto switches, and I've had to replace optos here on every Maverick I've worked on.

Switch test is your friend! Test with a ball, not with your finger!

As said switch test and will the ball only has too be a switch

Excellent. Thank you both. I will test this tonight. It will likely be the switch on the launch rail under the skill shot plastic.

Also check that you have the correct number of balls in the game.
Should be 6 balls in this one according to the manual.
Some games will play with a ball short so worth checking

I checked and the game only had 5 balls (4 in trough and one captive)

I added a ball to the trough and now when the game starts it loads a ball in the plunger, but then it must think that the ball drained and it launches a second ball on top of the first. Very strange

But remember, you don't count the captive ball as one of the balls.

Number 9 in the setup instructions in the manual states.

    9. Place the six pinballs on the playfield near the outhole, and carefully reinstall the playfield glass.

You may need one more ball! Should be 6 balls plus the captive!

This game only takes 5 balls total. 1 of which is the captive ball.

I thought 6 balls sounded like too many, but the manual .pdf in the IPBB says 6 balls.

It's a typo in the manual though, as I see it only has a 4 ball trough.
They probably copied that page from another manual, and forgot to change that line to 4 balls.
There are lots of mistakes in those manuals I should have known better!

Thanks for clearing that up crujones!
