I have finally been able to locate both of the original Owner's Manual and Service/Parts Manual for the Mattel "Las Vegas" home model pinball machine. I've scanned and digitally cleaned up the scans to pristine condition. This includes a complete machine schematic scanned at 600 d.p.i. and all on one 11" by 17" page. I've been able to add a lot more repair information too. All over at pinwiki:

It looks like Mattel made the playfield out of that same black plastic that Arachnid did for the plastic electronics drawer on the English Mark Darts 6000 series machines.

If you save the playfield pictures and then zoom in, you will see the inserts are snapped in.
