Was talking with a fellow collector about match sequence and we both have them turned on at home, but wonder if that is the norm for collectors.

So at home, do you have match turned on or off?

    #2 9 months ago

I get annoyed waiting for them to complete on newer games. On older where it's just a quick sound they're not bad, but still pointless

    #3 9 months ago

Unless the animation is awesome, I turn them off.

    #4 9 months ago

I have them turned on my machines.

    #5 9 months ago

    Have them on.

    #6 9 months ago

I have them left on by default, but yes they are kind of pointless in a home environment (unless as mrossman5 stated, the animations are worth watching

maybe I'll just starting charging my friends to play and then they'll be ecstatic when they win a free game

    #7 9 months ago

If I like the animation, I will have it on, and set the Match % to zero, since its on free play anyway

    #8 9 months ago

    On!

    Just like on location.

I suppose those that remove tilt bobs might see it differently though.

    #9 9 months ago

I have them on. House rules are if we match we play another game.

    #10 9 months ago

They’re completely pointless at home when the machine is on free play. But man I love getting a match. So much so that I got a real knocker conversion kit for my GoT. That stern screech is a POS, I hate it.

Yup, even if it’s the last game of the night, A match means play another game.

    Same here!

I love match sequences. All of my machines have match ON.

    #13 9 months ago

    ON!
Keeps it interesting when playing for $1/knock

    #14 9 months ago

The correct answer. 'On', of course.

    #15 9 months ago

On and make sure it's set to 10% like it should be.

    #16 9 months ago

On my Raven, I prefer the extra ball award since 10 games only cost a quarter.

    #17 9 months ago

On, with a very few exceptions where the animation is both boring, and too long. Monster Bash is my favorite game, but the match is a little bit annoying - however it's short so I've typically kept it on

    #18 9 months ago

My wife’s always like what’s that clack noise? I’m like i have no idea what your talking about

    #19 9 months ago

On for DMD games, off for solid state if they don't display anything interesting.

    #20 9 months ago

Mostly on for me - particularly on my custom build, which awards an extra ball on match.

    #21 9 months ago

On. Don't care enough either way to turn them off. If they were off by default I'd leave them that way too.

    #22 9 months ago

    On..

Once I get $5k in free plays, I know it's time to get a new machine..

    #23 9 months ago

On. Along with winning a game. And also repairing all the butchered wiring "cauze" it's goin' inma basement and don't need all that shit wiring no more.

    #24 9 months ago

Whatever whysnow says is the correct way.

    #25 9 months ago

I turn mine to Novelty which automatically turns the match sequence off. Also disabled extra balls and things for tournament play.

I am indifferent whether they are on or off. Doesn’t bother me either way.

    #26 9 months ago

Personally i love hearing the knocker snap. Always on in my home!

    #27 9 months ago

78% agreement among pinsiders -- you don't see that very often.

I do have it enabled on my SS machines, not that I set it to be on, but they are on. Even though it has no value, there is still something about the brief anticipation of waiting to see if you match. I guess after a crappy game a match gives you some sense of a win, even if it is meaningless.

I've played head to head matches with my brother where we will play each game in my collection. However, if the loser matches, than the result is tossed and we replay the game.

    #28 9 months ago

I know before the final bonus calculates if I'm going to play another game. If I have guests playing, it's up to them to decide another game or not.

The match sequence serves no purpose for me, so I have it off. But I do have my tilt bobs still installed!!

    #29 9 months ago

On, but in MMR if you hit the re-start button after the last ball drains and before the match animation, you'd never see it anyway. I know in MMR, you cannot re-start the game until the match animation completes, if it's already running.
