I'm in the same boat and picked up some 4" Kicker speakers for the backbox, but they don't work since they are 4 ohm and my game had 8 ohm speakers. Wondering if anyone has a good amp they can recommend to use.

Both the 8in and 12in version come with a speaker upgrade and mounting ring. Our 4in backbox speakers have a silk dome tweeter and give a smooth response over the high-end frequency domain:

Absolutely the best sound upgrade to put in your AC/DC. Game sounds like it was supposed to now. Can't say enough good things about it.

Agree with Kawydud. PinWoofer is the way to go, with absolutely no regrets ! Stop piecing together under performing speakers , trying to make the sound better on your pin.... I figured it out. When I went directly from J10 on the CPU/Sound PCB to the speakers wired in series, they worked fine, however the sound level was low. Now to go through Pinside and figure out a good class D amplifier to make them a little bit louder...
