He also has a MET Premium (or maybe an LE?

His MET at Game Underground is a hopped up Pro with some tasteful mods. I really dig the light rails and the backbox kit.

    #52 2 years ago
    Quoted from raisindot:

Gabe (the Pintastic NEmeister) has had a GOT Premium installed at the Games Underground arcade at the Natick Mall for several months. He also has a MET Premium (or maybe an LE? I don't know the difference) and a Jurassic Park there. I alone probably account for at least 25% of the income the GOT Premium generates every week. But no more, since I'm getting a GOTP as my one and only pin.

Thanks for the tip. I've never been there.

In fact, and I'm embarrassed to admit this, I've never played Metallica, though I have always wanted to. They don't have it at PWA which is my usual pinball location away from home.

    Congrats on your upcoming purchase!

Yes it did. I sold WWFRR at allentown. $2150

Robocop just added to the lineup at Flat Top Johnny's!

    Not true!

    Quoted from Topcard:

How about some Western MA pinsiders. I feel like I'm the only Massachusetts guy west of Springfield who cares about pinball.

    Hey everyone,
I'm heading east and will be staying in Gloucster for about a week.
I've been to the Salem Willows and am planning a day to get over to Pinball Wizard in NH.
Anything else Pinball related within an hour or two of Cape Anne I should check out?
I'm driving so i can get around.
Thanks and I can't wait to be back in Mass again.

There is a place opening up in downtown Salem. Not sure when it's opening. Could be open for all I know now. Believe it was an old jail or something?

I'm definitely spending a day or two in Salem checking out witchy stuff and visiting Counnt Orlock's Museum again I'll find out.
Do you know if the Salem Willow's is still going strong? The couple that ran it was super nice to me last time I went up there. They have some decent pins but their odd-ball coin op collection is the best.

Flat Top Johnny's and Lanes and Games, both in Cambridge. See a few posts above for pic of FTJ's lineup; L&G has 9 Sterns in top notch condition.

You'll only be an hour from Canobie Lake Park. It's a really fun amusement park with a great pinball room. I was there yesterday and played Ghostbusters for the first time. They have a bunch of new games and old classics too (I was really happy to see such a great condition Monster Bash)!

Don't go just for pinball because you have to pay the parks admission fee, but if you like coasters and the like you'll have a great time.

When I was there a few years ago, almost everything was broken in some way. I've heard it is much better now. Is that true?

    Quoted from Nokoro:

When I was there a few years ago, almost everything was broken in some way. I've heard it is much better now. Is that true?

There was a couple issues. There was an attendant there who I alerted a couple times and he jumped right into action. I asked him if he does all the fixes and he said he does the easy stuff and if something really goes wrong they have a guy that comes in. For the most part everything looked and played great!

I was surprised that a lot of the games were full LED and some even had ColorDMD.

    #68 2 years ago

Yeah, I remember them having an amazing collection. There were just so many issues that most of the pins were largely unplayable. Nice to hear that things may be changing.

    #69 2 years ago

I did not know Canobie had a pinball room. That looks really cool.

A few games on Bastardman will make anybody a better player. Wax the hell out of it, remove the outlane posts, jack it up to 7.5° and every other IM will feel like an EM! I'm pretty sure I've lost balls while they were just sitting in the shooter lane.

    Quoted from Langless28:

    It's new this year.
The massive problem will be the admission for the people who want to go to the pin area only.
Park needs to address that - $5-$10 non ride pass, for instance, otherwise it's destined to fail sadly.

    Quoted from renodakota:

renodakota - go to lanes and Games in Cambridge Mass - but do not go through the metro Boston city area to get there.
    128/95S to Exit 29 - Route 2 East.
9 perfectly shopped titles - all Stern - including GB, KISS, and GOT.

Bear in mind that Canobie Lake Park is in Salem, New Hampshire, not Salem, Massachusetts. Non-New-Englanders often mistake the two. Salem Willows and all the witch stuff is in Salem, MA.

Also consider Salisbury Beach, MA (the extreme Northeastern corner of MA, on the NH border). Joe's Playland is usually good.

Joe's sucks now - they finally threw in the hat about 4 years ago.
Stopped swapping out games regularly, and more important - stopped shopping what they have.
The Avengers has been on location now for 2 years with broken Hulk drop targets, Family Guy and IndyJ4 are unplayable they're so bad, and they never - ever - update any codes. Whatever code is in the game when they get it will be the final code forever.

To this day - the only arcade I've seen where they had ACDC and Tron, and took them out.
Damn shame - was once a good year round locale for me - but do not waste a trip now.

Is your MB going to stay in the lineup after the shootout? I'd travel there just to sink a bunch of bucks into that one.

    #78 2 years ago

Monster Bash is staying at Flat Tops for a while. She's playing really well and is tons of fun!

In addition to the other machines at Flat Tops, you can choose to Battle a Michael Jackson led zombie apocalypse, or Jam out with the Monsters of Rock!

Current lineup at FTJ's is 5 awesome machines. Not sure how long all 5 will be staying (owner of the bar has final decision), so get in there soon to enjoy all of them.

MoonWalking Dead ft. Michael Jackson's Thriller
    Monster Bash
    Game Of Thrones premium
    Metallica pro
Sharkey's Shootout (1 of only 800 made, and an under appreciated, very fun game)

I just recently took a couple of work trips where I had to travel back and forth across most of the Mass Pike. I was surprised to see that most service plazas I stopped at had a pin. I'm guessing many of you know this, but if not and you are traveling along and need a break, you can get some playing in at the same time.

Yeah, I've seen these but they're often placed in a nook near the entrance to a rest room. I just don't want to be perceived by travelers as "that creepy guy playing pinball outside the men's room."

I have to admit, I was a bit self conscious as I was playing Iron Man yesterday.

I just discovered this group. Someday i hope to own a machine, but i heard its an incurable addiction. On a side note Funarama at hampton beach has a brand spankin new TWD and a Stern Star Trek. Even better the kiddie arcade/casino upstairs has 10 90's machines all fully restored in the very back of the place. mousin, wcs, cue ball wizard, lethal weapon, mario andretti, cactus jack, bad cats, game show, and a few others.

Had an unexpectedly free afternoon in the Boston area so I was able to check out both Lanes & Games and Flat Top Johnnys. Beautiful setups, gentlemen! Had a great time at both locations trying out the different machines!

Flat Top Johnny's has added another beautiful machine to the lineup. Star Trek Premium, courtesy of New England Pinball League Champion Chuck Webster!

    Star Trek Premium
    Game Of Thrones Premium
    MoonWalking Dead ft Michael Jackson
    Monster Bash

    Checking in!

If you've got no plans this afternoon and are in the Boston area, my gym is putting on some fights. We've got like a ten fight card at the moment. I do all the match making, and I have to say, it certainly won't be boring! We'll be hitting up Miller's Ale House in Watertown for the after party.

    The address is:
    20 Clematis Ave
    Waltham Ma

The fights are free, though we do have a donation bucket at the entrance. Dont feel obligated to pay anything of course.

Has anyone played The Hobbit at Pinball Wizard Arcade? I finally got to play at Pintastic, but I found the one there could have been pitched a bit higher. I'm itching to play one that is a bit faster and more dialed in.
