    Quoted from Kevlar51:

Do they still have their Whitewater?

Nope WW was replaced by Monopoly. The Hoops basketball game was previous to WW. Hoops was a broken machine.

I liked WW but it was a very dirty PF and ramps. The lock down bar was loose. I was tempted several times to remove the glass and clean it with NOVUS.

This operator does not take good care of the pinball machines. I called once about buying the WW. He quoted $10k and said "I know what I got". LOL.

It was gone. They have a new Luigi haunted mansion though. Monopoly was the only pin. Didn't get a chance to play with kids in tow.

Thanks--that bums me out but saves me the trip. I've never had the chance to play a Whitewater, and this was on my to-do list.

    Calling all players!!!

Spring (Winter) season of Free State Pinball Association (FSPA) pinball leagues are coming soon. League players have the opportunity to win cash and/or prizes and also get an opportunity for an entry to win a free pinball machine! See the FSPA website at http://fspazone.org/ for specific details and rules. Our league players range from serious competitors to beginners and also include casual players just out looking for some fun and to meet other pinheads. But if you are looking for competition, FSPA leagues are also IFPA registered so come out and get some points if that's your aim.

Leagues start last week or two of January or first week of February. The links below will direct you to the league sign-up form, and you can also access these links directly from the FSPA website.

Each link will show the week 0 and week 1 dates. (Week 0 is a practice week and a get to meet the location and other players week - no cost or obligation if you just want to see what it's like...) Website calendar pages will show the same.

Any questions, you can email your local league commissioners via the web-site.

    Arlington VA - CarPool: http://fspa.league.papa.org/eventRegistration/118

    College Park MD - MOM's: http://fspa.league.papa.org/eventRegistration/119

Chantilly VA - Mustang Sally: http://fspa.league.papa.org/eventRegistration/120

Ashburn VA - Lost Rhino (Silverball Sanctum): http://fspa.league.papa.org/eventRegistration/121

    Frederick MD - Spinners: http://fspa.league.papa.org/eventRegistration/122

Just curious about the FSPA and how our league play works? Quick rundown here at http://fspazone.org/players-guide/

    Hope you can make it!

Just made it to Spinners for the first time in a few months and there were many additions to their arcade. First, they have a 007 Pro now, but also have maybe 8 Sterns with insider connected. Maybe 40ish pins? The real additions were to their arcade. I'm guessing 60 arcades, and maybe 15 of them were new since last time. It is $15 to enter, or $50 for a family. I brough my 6, 9, and 11 year old and they were beyond entertained the whole time, even barely playing pinball. The sit down racing games and Terminator Salvation shooting game were their favorite. There was also a decent sized crowd there, but plenty of open machines. Great place to try out Arcade 1ups (maybe a dozen in a small room in the back) as well as play some weird stuff you won't see elsewhere... like Hercules.

Anyways... take the family out of a trip to Frederick to check it out. Plenty of other family activities (cool canal walk, great Wonderbooks used books and CDs, Waffle House...

Do any locations have a Foo Fighters on order in the DMV area? I’m trying to decide between that and a GZ for my one remaining gameroom spot and am itching to try it out!

Ocelot Brewery usually gets all new Sterns upon release. I would check there once they start shipping operator pros.

Crabtowne posted yesterday they're getting one as well. I expect we'll see them pop up in a lot of places as the game looks great so far! I have one on order for Reclaim Arcade but that's a longer drive for you .

I actually like the plain GTF much better than tank GTF which only really looks tankish with the head folded down and then it's impossible to play.

    #374 1 year ago

Also, if you want to check out Scooby Doo (Collectors Edition) , Foo Fighters (Pro) and Galactic Tank Force (LE) at Ocelot, a great time to show up is for the tournament on Saturday, April 1st.

11am doors open, 12pm start, $10 entry (plus coin drop).

You can find more details here: https://www.ifpapinball.com/tournaments/view.php?t=59937#

If you want a more social but still competitive experience, we are just wrapping up the Pints and Pinball ( https://www.pintsandpinball.com/ ) league season and we'll start another season soon - informal week of next season is May 15th and season officially starts May 22nd. Players of all skills encouraged to play - the format keeps it competitive and fun for everyone. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Format for tomorrow's (3/30) tourney at Reclaim Arcade in Fredericksburg is 4 player match play.

The entire arcade just got a redesign and pinball alley has more room now.

Starts at 630 but if you show up early there's plenty to do, eat, drink, and 2 brand new (like today brand new!) Skee-ball lanes!

Awesome. Wish I could be there tonight for the tourney but not getting down to Reclaim again until Saturday. Excited to see the changes. Maybe there's room now for a Deadpool? Please please please...

BTW: does the season pass for individuals/families start April 1st and run through August? I think it's $200 for a family (of up to four), correct?

    Announcing
Ocelot Pints and Pinball League Summer Season

    When: Mondays - 7:15 to 9:30-ish
From May 22nd to Aug 7
Where: Ocelot Brewing in Dulles, VA
What: 10 weeks of match play with finals

Last season, we had about 50 people playing at Ocelot brewing on a fantastic variety of 15+ games that are well maintained.

You can see the latest line up at https://pinballmap.com/map/?by_location_id=15512

    Lineup highlights:
    * The Big Lebowski - one of 2 in the area
    * Scooby Doo (Collectors Edition) - one of 2 in the area
    * Galactic Tank Force (DE) - one of 3 in the country on location
    * Foo Fighters (Pro) - the newest Stern (planned to be upgraded to a Premium before long)
    * All 4 Elwin premium cornerstones - Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast (Premium), Jurassic Park (Premium), Avengers: Infinity Quest (Premium) and Godzilla (Premium)

    FAQ
    * What if I miss a week?
The league drops 2 scores - so missing a couple weeks is fine - you can miss more, but it'll start to have a significant impact upon your league standing

    * What if I think I'm not very good?
The league uses a ladder format to keep groups of like skill playing together.  The finals are divided into divisions, so you end up competing against similarly skilled players.  As you play more, you'll find your skills will improve and you'll move up the ladder into different divisions. It *is* more fun to compete.

    * What's in it for me?
A good time - pinball is fun, the league is social and the people are nice.  Hang out with other people that are as interested in pinball as you.  Talk about rules, new games, flipper skills, scoring strategies with people that will truly appreciate your pinball frame of mind.  Also, there is an end of season party.  They'll be WPPRs if you are into that.

    * How do I sign up?
    Sign up here:  https://www.pintsandpinball.com/league-signup

    * What if I don't live nearby or Mondays don't work for me?
Reach out and I can probably help you find a league near you that might work.

I got to spend the afternoon at Ocelot and enjoyed playing the new pinballs. I really liked the Premium Bond and Godzilla. The Foo fighters was just okay,, many video like cartoons that stopped the game play. I really wanted to like the Galatic Tank. But realized if you shoot the tank, that the ball will mostly go down the drain. My wife liked Jurassic Park. I also wanted to like Dracula BSD pinball as I am really familiar with other WPC89 games. But I was disappointed in my performance and how dark the playfield was. Fun time was had by all.

A pinsider told me about a pinball arcade at, of all places, MOM's Organic Market in College Park. Went by there today. Really nice collection and appear well-maintained. Machines are mostly pro and include: MM, MB, JP, AFM, RFM, Zilla, BM66, Led Zep, Rush (prem and pro), Star wars, Walking Dead, LOTR, AC/DC, Adams Fam, PotC, Dialed In, Hobbit, Black Knight SoR, Avengers pro, Creech, Spider Man, Iron Maiden (Elwin), and some older machines. Every machine is just $0.50! An absolute hidden gem in the DMV. Come here to play some pinball, get some organic produce and other groceries. None of these machines play like arcade games. They look and play like HOUs. I'm very impressed.

Chuck does an amazing job of maintaining all those machines and the ones at the Mom's in PA and elsewhere. If a machine is down, it is because the part is on order or does not exist. The owner of Mom's is a pinball machine lover.

This place is one of the best hidden gems anywhere. The cafe in the store is nice. The pizza joint on the corner is typical and good. And the machines are top notch! Wish it wasn't 1.5 hrs away...

I see you on the boards at #1 man! Would love to meet up someday. Send me a msg when you go.

The thought has been discussed but at this time there's no reward system.

    Quoted from UnholySpectacle:

There is a tournament at Mom’s College Park tomorrow for those interested.

What time is it and do you have a link to more info about it?

I second this. I don't do the facebook thing but welcome and encourage those putting on tournaments in the area to announce them here. More eyes and more people likely to come. I need to branch out in tournaments outside of Allentown (and Pinfest).

The tourney at Mom’s CP starts at 8pm and we play as many rounds we can fit up till 10:45. Here is the link:

Really welcoming crowd so I suggest coming if you can make it.
