    Quoted from sliprose:

I recently was in the Sterling, Northern VA area for a few nights and was able to check out the Ocelot, Mustang Sally, and Solace pinball action. I'm from Central Maryland and I can't think of one brewery that has pinball, and in this area there are 3 within a few miles! All of the machines were in very good condition (except GNR at Mustang Sally had issues with the disc getting stuck and the third flipper was so weak it could barely move the ball, also the playfield had the worst pooling I've ever seen). I was really happy to finally check out Oktoberfest and Hot Wheels on my trip. Both were really fun, but I preferred Oktoberfest - really enjoyed it. The music would be a deal breaker at home, I think I'd go crazy if I had to listen to it all of the time. This trifecta of breweries is definitely worth a trip to the area for pinball fans.

Glad you were able to make it out. Come check us out again at solace the next time you're thru..We just finished updating the game room.

So what is up with Spinners? Their website lists the following (few) pinball games:

    PINBALL
Avengers Pro (Stern), Star Wars Pro, Jurassic Park Pro, Guardians of the Galaxy Pro, Attack from Mars, Who Dunnit, Whirlwind, Funhouse, Pin*bot, Jackbot, Mousin’ Around, Road Kings, Black Knight 2000, Circus,

Is that what they have currently? This wouldn't really make me too excited to make the trip - if they have more games, they would be better to list them all on their site........

Anyone know where I can play a Star Wars Premium in the DC/MD or VA area? I'm in Montgomery County and am considering a new pin, one of which is a Star Wars Premium. I don't want to buy without playing it first. I can't find anywhere on the map with a Premium available to play.

    #108 2 years ago

Star Wars Premium is at Center of the Universe brewery in Ashland, VA!

I am down in Sandbridge for the next few days. Is there any place in the VaBeach area worth checking out?

Just a heads up from a noob to this forum.

I drove up to Crabtowne USA today to play World Cup 94 to see if it's something I like as much as I remember as a kid, and they were closed.

There is a sign on the door saying they are closed from October 2nd to October 10th due to the owners going on vacation. There were 2 other cars that pulled in the parking lot as I was reading the sign on the door.

So hopefully this saves someone a trip! I'm in Rockville and it's about 35 mins away, but I ended up heading to MOMs afterwards.

Stopped by ocelot bc Godzilla is there! Mando right beside it! Both played great.

Perhaps put a piece of foam on the diverter so the rejects don't happen on Mando.

All games are well maintained and play well from what I could see.

flynnibus If you are ever looking to sell super Mario brothers please let me know!

Godzilla just showed up at Mom's in College Park, Md. However, something was wrong right out of the box. Jose tried to stream it. The sound board or something else was not right,so it sits turned off waiting repair.

Speaking of repair....I spent last week at Ocean City for Car Cruising week. There was a Creature from the Black Lagoon in the arcade basement of the Princess Hotel. Unfortunately, the right flipper was still broken since July. You buy a $5.00 or more game card. Then touch it to the front card reader only to find out the game is broken!

I found another Arcade around 137th street bayside. Stranger Things played well. Attack From Mars played well, but no shaker. Got spoiled by the one at Moms. The new Mandolin Pro played well. I was having fun and got several multi balls. Then the ball got hung up in a metal tower in the back of the machine. Apparently, the Opto there is broken. The worker bee even knew about it. Removed the glass and the ball. Gave me a credit and I played again, till it hung again. I was done.

I went to MOMs today since it's by my job and there was a guy working on Godzilla. He didn't end up fixing it while I was there and left after like 30 minutes of working on it with it turned off.

There were quite a few games not working.

Godzilla, Iron Maiden, F-14 Tomcat, and then like 2 back glasses weren't lit up. I've only been there 3x before but those times everything was working perfectly so it was a bit surprising.

I was at holy Frijoles today in hampden dialing in a few games. Worked on addams, mousin, scared stiff, and then upstairs worked on fish tales and whitewater. They have a pretty stellar lineup of games for public play downstairs, including Mousin, lotr, scared stiff, dialed in, rfm, Munsters premium, Indy Jones wms, Addams, avengers, creature, laserball, and a couple more I can’t remember. Once in a while they open the upstairs during league night or events, but usually it’s closed to the public. Probably another 25 pins upstairs. Go check it out,off 36th st in north Baltimore. Great place to get some burritos or tacos and a few beers!

Also remember that Baltimore city has a mask mandate, so bring your mask.

So I just got back from Mom's, and GODZILLA is operational!!! I played it with several others for a long time and really liked it. REALLY LIKE IT. A young man, who plays there all the time was kind enough to give me his free game and he had high score on it too. My high score was like 114 million. The other guy that I was playing the game with got over 400 million. He seemed to have memorized the rule book. Lots of great shots on the ramps and it is satisfying to make the ball travel through the building. The hard shot from the left flipper is getting into the scoop. I liked the Magna ball save. It hangs on for quite a while. Sometimes it drops right in front of the upper flipper and sometimes it doesn't. Interesting side notes, the left drain happens a lot. Also if you drain a ball early and get a save ball, the chances are, that it will go SDTM, unfortunately. But the game is fun.

Spinners just received their Godzilla pro yesterday! Go spin it.

    #124 2 years ago

Hit up Ocelot for the first time in a while yesterday.

Quite a few pins here that you cannot find anywhere else.

    Their Pilsner is highly recommended.

Really enjoyed Godzilla here but I think I still prefer Mando.

Worth a trip if you've never been.

Note that the Led Zeppelin has been removed, but Whirlwind and Black Hole are now on site.

Went to MOMs in College Park today and was disappointed that Godzilla was once again out of service. I still have yet to try it out. I thought it would be working just since it was working like a week ago based on posts in here.

Stranger Things and like 2 other machines were also off.

I felt some buttons were sticking a bit on some of the machines I was playing on as well so I don't know what's going on. When I first found out about that place a few months ago I feel they upkept it a bit better.

    #126 2 years ago

I was also disappointed at my visit this week to MOMs, as Godzilla was turned off again. I have only gotten to play it once in 3 trips there. Stranger Things was on and played well. It should, as it is new out of the box. Then the tech showed up and worked on some of the machines. He always gives me tips and insights to the inner workings of pinball machines. I asked why Godzilla was down. The story is that it is owned by someone else, as well as Strnger things and a third one. I guess who ever owns it, does not want too many plays on it or maintence or some other reason. Then why have it in a public location?

    #127 2 years ago

Kids still had a blast at MOMS this weekend.

Not the reason. It’s more about ‘my stuff verse their stuff’ and who is responsible for upkeep etc.

Unfortunately that Godzilla has had multiple problems right out of the box and hasn’t gotten to a good baseline yet.

I was there Saturday around noon and Stranger Things was turned off when I was there.

I was hoping Godzilla was on but nope. My 2nd time there with that game on the floor but turned off both times.

For what it is worth, the Godzilla and Stranger things were both working in Ocelot in Dulles last weekend when I was there. Both locations have their pros and cons. If you could only go to one, I'd say Mom's for the breath and depth of machines, but Ocelot tends to have the latest pins in early. Also, beer=good. Random internet stranger reading this... both locations are awesome. Go.

I do want to check Ocelot out. I don't think it was Ocelot but one of the breweries out in VA had Halloween too that I want to check out.

Thing is, those are like an hour from my house, whereas Mom's is like 20 lol.

Yeah... Ocelot is like an hour and 20 minutest from my house. But 15 minutes from the in-laws.

Sure I'll drop your dad off after his visit... Might take me a while...

It's just the theme. I'm a Halloween mark. No way I'd spend that much money to own one, but it would be cool to just play and hear all that music/sound from the movie.

Crabtowne has IFPA sanctioned 3-4 strike tourneys every Tuesday night. Starts 8pm, usually runs to 11-1130. Last night we had 34 players. It’s the best opportunity to boost your IFPA rank in the state, and qualify for finals, or play for cash and have a good time! Last nights price Pool was 170 bucks, and got split three ways.

$6 to enter... 5 goes straight into prize pool, $1 goes to ifpa. Great vibe, great food and drinks, and an awesome group of people. Everybody has a good time, and there’s no bullshit drama. Come on out!

FWIW, the new Bowlero place in Tysons Galleria (first floor where Macy’s used to be) has 3 pins (Guardians, Led Zeppelin pro, and Mandalorian). Set up is similar to Dave & Busters where you need to purchase a play card for $2 and load credits on it to play their arcade games and pins. 2 credits for pinball and depending on how many credits you purchase each pinball game would be $1 or less.

Due to the loud atmosphere it was hard to hear the callouts and such but gave me a chance to play Mando for the first time.

Finally got over to Hagerstown and Spinners. A very impressive arrangement of old and new, even a lonely old flipperless unit - felt kind of sorry for it as it sat there quietly and lonely next to a Jack Bot......... LOVED the Godzilla, a pleasant surprise.

Unfortunately almost all of the EM machines were in need of help and did not play correctly. I never understand why machines are not tilted up - a LOT - especially an EM - this makes the gameplay fast and fun. Some great titles, but condition was not welcoming to gameplay.

Torpedo Alley was a surprise to see - really great condition. I played and played that damn thing, but couldn't get into it. Seems like a drain monster and the layout isn't really player friendly - too bad because I love the cheesy theme and that backglass!!

Ended the evening on a real beater - Road Kings - played really rough, playfield plastics actually moving around during gameplay, pf looking like sandpapered mess - but the music and the feel of that game was surprisingly fun. Very 80's. Was trying to figure out the hold bonus rule-set.........

Had a great time, there were some great pins sitting in the back of one of the rooms yet to be worked on - now to play a Godzilla with the fancy building mod and the bridge etc. That'll make it even more enjoyable.

A few new games showed up at MOMs Organic Market in College Park.

Royal flush is cool. Munsters left and came back. I know Flash Gordon has been there a while but wanted to remind folks feeling good about their pinball skills that this game is here to kick your butt!

The team at MOM's move machines to and from their College Park, MD location and Abington, PA location. Seems they sent Guardians of the Galaxy and Riverboat Gambler back to Abington and sent Munsters back to College Park.

New pin at new location spotted. Whitewater in Crofton bowling center. Game is filthy, has a credit dot, and leans heavily to the right but it is a Whitewater.

Have been playing it for a few weeks, when my son is bowling on Saturday mornings. Agree on how dirty it is. It replaced an equally dirty and broken basketball pinball. I actually called the company that owns it and asked to buy it. The owner went on to tell me how rare and valuable this game was. He said he knows what it is worth and has a firm price of $10,000.00 . I replied with, "if it is so valuable, then why is it so dirty inside, with a credit dot showing since it showed up, with worn rubbers, a broken brown furry guy at the top and one of the pop bumpers not working?" He only said his price was firm. I hung up. But it does play, as I like the game play it does do. Wish I could clean it up though. LOL.
