Nice blonde. I never considered mods on Frank other than the topper my bud is making. .. If he ever gets it done. The only things I've done are cliffys and leds.

I could only post one pic at a time the other day also.

I had that problem with the North Pole VUK. Mine was due to the mounting screws on the assembly being loose.

Quoted from blondetall:

Is there a specific fuse that would be associated with it that may have blown when the original DMD blew?

If memory serves, there actually is a fuse in the left side of the backbox that is not easily seen. The wire bundle tends to cover it. Can you check the 5 volts to the dmd board?

Quoted from Jtm3:

Yep, it was a disaster...

That is exactly why I haven't tried on this game. Would love to have that bright shiny finish but the risk reward just didn't seem worth it.

Sounds like the 5v problem to me. There is a kit that helps. These really need the full 5v or as close as possible. Have you checked it?

That sucks Dodge. Does any of the thread protrude thru the arm?

Never heard of that issue before. Sounds bizarre. I haven't looked away mine in a while. Are there 2 switches on the ramp?

The eyes on mine are upside down also if memory serves. I think it was an effort to prevent a ball trap but don't know why it would be upside down.

I think many of us could use that ramp. Mines epoxied together.

I would check mine for you but won't be home until this weekend.

Quoted from FrostbittenCow:the ball often gets stuck on the left side of the Geneva scoop against the metal cover and the side of the Playfield.

If you're talking about the cliffy protector for Geneva I ended up taking mine off because of this.

Quoted from zhu808:

Was playing last night and my upper flipper slowly stopped working during my game.

Probably a dumb question but did you check the flipper button to make sure it's gapped correctly?

I took my cliffy off that scoop because of that. I'd rather have playfield wear than fight the ball getting stuck.

Originally I added mylar over the cliffy to smooth the transition, which helped marginally.

4A). Sorry I don't have a better picture handy, but color matching LEDs in the backboard can really accentuate the various scenes.

Quoted from slizzap:

Did you match every LED in the backboard with the color of the graphic directly in front of it?

Actually, I didn't match any of them, my wife did. Lol. Most were the same color except where it washed it out she varied it. I owned the machine for years and never realized there was so much in the art.

The insert LEDs all are color matching to the insert.

I obviously didn't use the Marco kit.

Are the inserts clear? I'm not home or I would look. It has been several years since I LED'd mine but I'm pretty sure I color matched them.

The dmd needs a strong 5 volts. If it drops much you will get resets. There is a kit that fixed mine from this issue.

Quoted from Lopa:

Now for the problem at hand, when I turn my game on I get no display and a handful of coils lock on. I can make a bunch of assumptions but can anyone help me here, I’m at a loss for what to try?

Just grasping at straws, are you positive you plugged in everything correctly and one of the plugs isn't a pin off?

It's been a while since I've taken mine apart but it doesn't seem like there was much to it. Just take lots of pictures as you go.

As far as the hand being lower it could be an adjustment.

Maybe also check part 17 in the diagram and make sure it hasn't come loose, allowing the arm to sag. Just a thought.

No Fear Vs. Frankenstein? I got an equally condition Trade opportunity.

I'm not a No Fear fan but love Franky. It was my first pinball many years back though so I may be bias.

Quoted from slizzap:

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else have (or did have) nails sticking out of their playfield underneath the slingshots?

Yes, I've seen that on several games. Not sure of the purpose though.

I had the same problem with the Cliffy on mine. Tried putting mylar over the edge. Finally gave up and pulled it off.
