I find it really interesting that people are saying there are grey 'bars' between posts.
I don't see that - I don't see it as 'grey bars' - the greay space between posts is the same color as the rest of the background. The post's content (and ONLY the post's content, not the top metadata) is highlighted with the white background. The small metadata (link to post, find all posts by, date, and up/down votes) are part of the background, 'hovering over' the background and post, as it were.

What happens when you hold down CTRL and hit F5 to refresh stylesheets?

Click on the user's icon. It'll open a panel (like the pop bumper and report post) with all the information you need, and more.

Frankly I can deal with the grey spaces...but for the love of god, why are the avatars and username and all the other crap up there NOT aligned with the white box.
It's supposed to be a '3D' effect. Effect only, that's why.
It's not an issue, that's how it is.
And I'm a little confused about how it would change anyways.. Follow me here -
On those screenshot, each post is only one or two lines high. If you spread it all the way to your screen edges, they'd still be only one or two lines high, so that each post would only be thinner in height.
