Hey,

I'm helping a friend get his MGOW working. Right now, we can't get the game to start up. Meaning the coin switch and credit button aren't seeing. Also earlier when it was working it had screwed up sounds and no sounds. For a little while adjusting the connectors up in the head fixed it, but now even that doesn't help. Any advice would be much appreciated.

With S80 games, connectors are always a concern. If the edges are not clean and shiny, and the female plugs pins are not strong and shiny, you'll have problems. The connectors should fit snugly.

Until you've addressed connectors, and grounds, all bets are off.

@ whitebuffel

The problems with coin switch and credit button are bad IC's on MPU. (I think out of memory Z11, Z12, Z13 & Z14, not sure)
It is the two 7400's and 7404's that are located right next to each other.
Also that one 7432 might be blown skyhigh.
Those are the ones I see bad most of the time when fixing old mpu's
