Hi, I had the game stop working about a month ago. Didn't get around to looking at it until today. The GI comes on the playfield and backglass. The speaker makes a noise similar to the noise that the backglass spinner on Black Hole makes, just using that as a description.
I see a blue wire from the bottom that looks like a ground wire unattached, see photo.
Can anyone tell me where that attaches? Probably a long shot but the fittest step. Thanks

Unless someone just added that wire, I don't think it's ground. All the Gottlieb's I've owned had green ground wiring. Hopefully someone will be able to tell you what it's for as a fair amount of pinsiders have that game.

My guess is that you'll be able to follow that wire to the head and find it connected to ground in the head.
This might be part of the overall System 80 aftermarket ground mods.

Argh. Have the ground mods been done to the boards. I’m positive that is a ground wire. It can’t be anything else since it’s attached to the ground strip.
