You can hate Duke, but you have to love Zion.

I have Texas Tech, Duke and Virginia in my Final Four. Still in it.

    Quoted from Mike_J:

Anthony Mason was a nice tough guy for the Knicks with decent ability. Zion is on another level.
At the very least, he’s an 18/10 guy in the Pros.

Mason had a really nice skill set. You see the muscle and the brawl-ball but he had touch. Big fan.

Duke kept the ball out of Zion's hands too much near the end there and that was a huge mistake! He was their big mismatch.

It's hard to find a comp for him because undersized PFs are almost gone in the NBA. You have Draymond Green at the top and middling guys like Randle and Millsap. I think he will play bigger than his height. He's Carlos Boozer the more I think about it. But he had trouble holding up during the short college season so durability will be key, and as with most 1-and-dones we won't know much for years.

Duke did not make the final four. I would have liked them to lose sooner, but that alone makes this tournament a success for me. The cherry on top is North Carolina and Kentucky also losing before the final four. Those teams win too much (and Duke way too much).

    Took the words
    right outta' my mouth.
On the other hand, I find myself rooting for Mich St as I perceive them to be more of a blue collar,
    hard working team.

Duke last won a championship in 2015, how is that winning too much? Yes, I am a DUKE fan for 30 years. Just don't get all the hate for our kids. Was a very special freshman class this year and Zion is one of a kind and fun as hell to watch. Wish they could have finished the run.

    Sat evening/night, Apr 6, 2019
    (2) Final 4 games, both on CBS
UVA favored by 5-1/2 points over Auburn
Mich St favored by 2-1/2 points over Texas Tech

VA is the only #1 seed that made the Final 4.
Conference matchups are: ACC vs SEC, and Big 10 vs Big 12

Texas won the NIT this year.

Mon night, Apr 8, 2019, on CBS, UVA vs Tx Tech.
VA is favored by 1-1/2 points. Game is being played in Minneapolis, MN.

Texas Tech is in Lubbock, TX, and has over 38,000 students enrolled at the main campus.

Everyone here in Lubbock Tx are Fired Up!!!

    Go Tech....

Class of 2006 Red Raider here. Get your guns up!

    #119 2 years ago

    Let’s go UVA!!

    #120 2 years ago

That was one heck of a ball game.

I had no rooting interest, but both of those teams left everything on the floor, great effort. Whenever UVA, needed a big basket they were able to convert.

Great game and great tournament overall, especially weekends 2 and 3. Duck Fuke and Muck Fizzou!

    #122 2 years ago

Really, really good game last night. Did seem to me though that Virginia was playing with more purpose and poise. They were in command of the game overall and fended off everything TT threw at 'em.
    On the other hand,
Texas Tech fought hard but seemed to me to be just a bit tight.
Congrats to both teams on a fantastic final.
And to the champs you proved to be a true #1!

    #123 2 years ago

    Overall I am underwhelmed.
Next year, Go UCI Anteaters ZOT!!

Redemption for the University of Virginia! The made-for-TV movie (there is certain to be one) will start with their loss in the first round last year and end with Virginia winning the championship.

Remarkable. Talk about lowest of lows to the highest of highs.
