It appears no one has started a topic for this year yet.
I am cheering for my Alma Mater
UC Irvine Anteaters (25-5) Go ZOT!!!
and also have soft spot for my home state
and the South Dakota State JackRabbits (24-7)

Big hurdle though is to still win their league tourneys
otherwise they will be unlikely to get an at large invite to the big dance.

The UCI Anteaters are arguably the best basketball team in California this year.
I might be tempted to say best on the West Coast, except for Gonzaga.

Some may say what about St.Mary's (BPI ranking is at 40)
but UCIrvine beat St.Mary's this season.
UCI is currently #95 BPI ranked.

Both UCI AND So.Dakota State are currently projected at 14 seeds in Bracketology,
If they both win out they might get to be a 13 seed.

I don't really care who wins as long as KU loses.

    #4 5 years ago

Sister Jean and the Loyola Ramblers!

    #5 5 years ago

    UVA BABY!

    #6 5 years ago

Whomever plays Iowa in the second round.

    #7 5 years ago

    UNC

    #8 5 years ago

    UNC or Duke

    #9 5 years ago

    My alma mater - Duke

    #10 5 years ago

    Duke!?! Pa-leeze!
I'm sorry but the bandwagon is full.

    #11 5 years ago

Don't have a favorite, so i'll be rooting for my squares & brackets!

    #12 5 years ago

Because Pitt won’t be anywhere near the bracket, I am definitely rooting for Wofford and Buffalo. In the last several years, we have seen a lot of upsets and long runs in the tournament by Cinderellas. I hope one can take the whole thing.

    #13 5 years ago

    Boiler Up!

    #14 5 years ago

yeah i am almost always for the underdog

    #15 5 years ago

    Syracuse and Buffalo

    #16 5 years ago

    FSU, 1987 alumni.

    #17 5 years ago

    UC Irvine is now 26-5
and projected as a 13 seed.
    Still got to win their conference tourney though;
otherwise it is being regulated to the NIT.

    #18 5 years ago

    Go Anteaters!

    UCI finished regular season 27&5,
when/if they win the conference tourney they should be 30-5
and a solid 13 seed, primed for the cinderella role.

The Anteaters defence is pretty good
in top 20 for least points allowed.

Looks like the South Dakota State JackRabbits are not going to the big dance, as they were upset by the 8th seed in their Summit League Champ Tourney.
Oh well always next year, hopefully they will do well in NIT.

    #22 5 years ago

    Gonzaga

    #23 5 years ago

UC Irvine (28-5) won its first game in the conference tourney
and held their opponent to only 44 points.

    one down two to go
before their spot to the big dance is guaranteed.

    #24 5 years ago

UCI is now 29-5. One more win and they are in! Go ZOT!

    #25 5 years ago

    Wow!
Our Mn Golden Gophers are in the Big Ten semi's!
    Who woulda' thunk it?
Took out Purdue to get there.
Richard Pitino's got 'em playing right at just the right time.
We shall see how they do today AND in the
    Big Dance.

    #26 5 years ago

My anteaters clinched a spot Tonite by winning their conference tourney handly. Go UCIrvine. This is the year of Cinderella's.

    #27 5 years ago

    Kentucky! Go Cats!

    #28 5 years ago

    How about those Oregon Ducks?
Pac 12 champs & in the big dance!!

The Ducks will be my secondary cinderella team that i will be rooting for
should the Anteaters (30-5) (Go ZOT)
    fall by the wayside.

    #30 5 years ago

The four teams I follow got knocked out of their conf tourneys early on, so championship week was kind of a dud for me.
    * Univ of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns (went to school there, and currently live down here in S LA)
    * Indiana Univ Hoosiers (went to grad school at IU-NW regional campus)
    * Purdue Univ Boilermakers (I grew up there in W Lafayette, my Dad taught there, and my daughter graduated there in 2018)
    * LSU Tigers (great athletes and teams in many diff sports)

Looking fwd to the big NCAA basketball tournament.
I like seeing some of the smaller schools knock off the hot shots at the big schools.

    Clark Kellogg stated:
"The Anteaters are in position to do
some damage" in this year's tournament.
    We shall see!

Glad the Golden Gophers got in.
We don't get very many tickets to the big dance. Nice!

    #32 5 years ago

Michigan State ... due for another run.

    #33 5 years ago

My alma mater.... go Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University!!! Beat UCF in the first round and then on to Duke, easy squeezy!!!!

    #34 5 years ago

UVA. And 3 (winner) and 9 (loser) in my square pool.

Hoping Gardner Webb doesn't bust them out like UMBC last year?

    #36 5 years ago

    UVA over Duke.

    #37 5 years ago

    BUFFALO!!! GO BULLS!!!

    Oh yeah and Syracuse.

    Yup. That was a bummer.

That game blew up all my brackets last year....but I guess that's what march madness is all about!

    #40 5 years ago

Crap. I had Temple and PV A&M both making it to the Final 4 in my bracket. What a bummer.

I did have a hard time deciding which teams to pick to win in the (4) 8-9 seed match-ups.

    #41 5 years ago

Mn played a pretty good 1st half. Let's see if they can finish.

    #42 5 years ago

Rooting for close games, upsets, and more beer!

Wow! Golden Gophers quite possibly just played their most complete game of the season while defeating Louisville.
    Savor the victory boys!
    ...might be the
    only one you get...

    I am 100% so far
