I got my first EM and have been trying to see how it works. Not much happens when I turn it on and so I was trying to see how the mechanical parts are supposed to operate by manually operating it. The video shows me operating the main stepper, I can move it about 4 stops and then the gap on the toothed wheel indicates that is as far as it goes. The reset solenoid lets it spin back to resting position.

Does this seem reasonable? Why make an entire wheel when it only goes 4 clicks. I suspect I am not doing it right but I don't see how to get it to go more.

A video of me trying to manually manipulate the solenoids to make it advance is at: https://lyndenpublicschools-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/butlerm_lynden_wednet_edu/ERep6UlyEgdDvu_Pb96OD4cBtBL9ysvSXcgmdeZa0sF-uw?e=GdzTcs

Well, I finally got the main cabinet open and can see whats going on. Since this is my very first EM I still am struggling to know if something is a problem or supposed to be that way.

Take a look at the videos, I turned the unit on for a few seconds. The motor turns but it seems quite slow and does not turn at a constant rate. It seems like that would not be right but I really don't know. Is that a problem or is it good?

I've taken the cover off and filmed the score motor in action. It looks to me like the motor is flopping around inside the housing. I haven't had a chance to pull it out and look but I am guessing the bearings are shot. Is there a source for replacement motors or is it just pot-luck on ebay?

slow-mo movie of the motor in action, you can see at the end it just falls out of the housing and the motor stops: https://lyndenpublicschools-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/butlerm_lynden_wednet_edu/EYUSc3ASeJtKvjdlCSRrfqsBCpZMJB11adewc3Flc_IQRg?e=nO45Dy
