LOL, I would not swear to that, but I'm pretty confident that the cut of steak most restaurants now refer to as a "New York Strip" originated as a Kansas City Strip or KC Strip. Also (and big surprise here) the settlers who founded the town of Manhattan, KS came over from New York.
