Welp my right upper flipper on the mini playfield stopped working. Doesn't work in test so must not be getting power. Hoping for a broken wire/solder joint.

Has anyone removed the upper playfield to take a look? Not sure how else to troubleshoot.

Anyone ever have this issue?

Not something I feel like digging into at 7pm on a Friday night but here we are.

It was. Easy fix. Miniplayfield is easy to removed. Replaced Stern coil stops while I was in there.

Adding this from Stern for anyone needing to remove their Mandalorian Mini Playfield

Where did you find that? I looked in the manual from the Stern website and didn't see that.
Thank you so much for posting that!

Thank you very much for posting this. I used it to take off my upper playfield last week. My right flipper wire broke off, likely from the upper playfield movement. Re-soldered connection and everything now working.

Had the exact same issue, also had to resolder wire...
Many thanks for the Upper Playfield disassembly instructions and notes etc.

Thank you for this topic! I just joined the Mando club last night with a Premium and ~40 or so games into play, both the flippers in the upper playfield died. It was probably no coincidence that it happened about 15 games after I installed a shaker motor.

I was dreading taking the mini-playfield out to examine the flippers but this thread made it seem pretty straight forward. Got the mini-playfield out and on my bench and there it was....the Gray/Orange wire broken off. And since it daisy-chains to the other flipper, it made sense that both would be dead.

Stripped off a new lead, re-soldered, re-installed the mini-playfield, and we're back in business in less than an hour. I reflowed the solder and checked the strength of the solder jobs on all of the other coil lugs under the mini-playfield while I was there, just as preventative. I would've put new coil stops in but I don't have any on hand at the moment and the family was watching me fix this so they can get back to playing Mando, lol!

Hello everyone, great post & thanks for all your comments.

My upper playfield is making some kind of squeaking noise when it moves up and down as if it lacked oil.

Do you now if I can put some oil or something somewhere to repair / avoid the squeaking ?

Thanks

I have been told to never use any liquid lubricant under the playfield because it will collect coil dust and dirt and turn it into a grinding paste that's gumming up everything. YMMV

Another victim of the dreaded non-working upper flipper. Pulled the mini playfield per instructions and, sure enough, a broken solder joint. Fixed and back up now, thanks to OP for posting removal instructions.
