MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator

Often people try and put the most games into a single arcade-looking cabinet.

This is a club thread where people can argue:

CRT vs LCD monitors?

Convert real cabinets (ruining them forever), or build a new one?

Can you ever have too many controls on a panel?

Are you turned on by Scanlines or Tanlines?

CRT burn; worth it to re-phosphor?

Can a monitor be too big?

Pi or Intel CPU?

Are light-up buttons gay?

Cheap places to get vinyl decals printed?

LED or Fluorescent lights for marquee?

I filled in the center with black resin so that you aren't blinded by the light.

I prefer to hang out in the $299 Walmart junk arcade thread. That's where all the single moms are right Vid?

yawn....

I hate Friday's because whenever your mom is not home, you don't get enough attention.

I get it, you can be a smartass, but I can't

I fully encourage you to be a smartass, just make sure it's funny material.

Maybe like:

"I like this thread better, because there is no way in hell a single mom is going to be able to drag one of these up her apartment stairs without a man in her life."

"Poll: Single moms, do you prefer Odroid XU4 or Pi B3+ ?"

"A MAME cab means commitment. That's why single moms don't build them."

"Buying a used MAME cab is like dating a single mom. You are just picking up where someone else left off."

"A single mom would never have time to build a MAME and still keep 3 kids alive"

This is truly a work of art! It belongs in a VW showroom man!

It's totally badass, but I wonder about how much emissions that thing **really** puts out

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

1. Where are you guys getting the Mame roms? It seems like a great way to get your PC full of viruses.

The ROMs themselves don't have virus that your computer is going to catch.

So if you go to the Bay.org where the Pirates hang out and search for "MEME roms 6000", you will d/l a giant directory with 6000 games in it. Remember, when d/l from the bay, the only thing you click is the "horseshoe magnet" link - do not click ads flashing "download now!" or any thing other than the magnet.

Besides all those games, there will be a few files that **could** have a virus. I see a "Mamep.exe" in one of the folders - obviously, never run an .exe or .com file from an unknown source.

There is no need to run any .exe files.

Take your games, and delete any .exe or .com files; so your wife does not click them.
