I used Maximus Arcade as my front end. Made it very easy to have only the games you wanted in the menu.
Arcade Shop always has great parts to build MAME cabinets and have clean looking machines.
I've always had great customer service there.

I don’t think the rom version really makes that bigga’ deal. Most of the games I care for are 35-40 years old anyway. (:
