That ramp flap looks awesome. did you make it or buy it? Do you have a machine to press rivets? Great work. Re enforced targets is a great idea.
Hi dave, what is the product you use on the metal assemblies to make them look so good? Job looks great!
Quoted from dmacy:Advice from here years ago: Flitz sprinkled in the tumbler using walnut for 2 days. For hand jobs (TWSS) Mothers chrome and metal polish.
10-4.
I just got a mousin around and a T2, and I am going to do a strip the pf shop job on them (if I can afford the time)
I like your plan of just completely rebuilding the pops, because they are such a pain in the ass to work on when they break. Not on this title as much as others where they are way up at the top. I have always been a fan of the pop bumper assemblies that slide right thru a big hole in the pf.
Quoted from Pablito350:Who are you to give hand job advice to the master????
No kidding!
Quoted from dmacy:I cleaned them but this was a very clean machine. Only common areas like near flippers were dirty.
It must have came off route early and went to a home owner. They can go a decade in a home without getting grodie
so we build a little prominence on this game, very cool!!!
Most of the game that I got out of peoples basements were the dirtiest games I got. So many didnt know how to take the glass off. Or the glass somehow got broken, and they get super dirty. Looks like this one has had quite a life. I really like that show on pbs called finding your roots. we could do a pinball version that would be a blast!
I am sold on those pops. That was a great question to ask. I totally over looked them and how they would look. I always like extra light around the play area, so great idea on the extra spots on the slings. I want this game!
I like that wall paper inside the cab rather than chrome. looks like a creepy haunted mansion. I was so excited by this thread that I started looking for a taf to restore. I all ready have a couple repro pfs for that title. I found a roached one on pinside for 10 grand. I thought it was some greed insane person, and I asked my friend who routes and restores games, and buys a lot of them lately, and he told me thats the general range. So depressing. I paid 2400 for mine in 07 and it was so nice I didnt have to do anything but clean the pf.I am sounding like a broken record on the prices lately, but its depressing. Luckily I really enjoy almost every game from every era, so there are some I can still buy.
The great thing about TAF is a beginner will love it and a pro will not get bored of it.
Quoted from freeplay3:Thanks for the pics. Looked at the link also. Nice restoration. I love system 11 games and enjoy seeing them get this treatment.
Same here, sys 11 and sys 80 are my fav games by far. I would imagine because of my age. Well if I had more money, there may be more dmd games in my collection, who knows.
Quoted from JT-Pinball:This is absolutely incredible! This make me want a TAF more than I already do! Have to try to pick one up before they hit 20k for a project...
Very nice work!
Thats exactly what I was thinking. I had those WPC games back when they were about 3k for a nice one. if I knew then what I know now... and had the money and space to store them.
amazing work as always dave plus that taxi is a beaut. That game seemed to make so many quarters back in the day. I think its another mark ritchie. I love all of his games!
If you are interested in the kruzman process, that I have perfected over 13 years, here is a link to my thread here on pinside. Lots of pics and lame stuff about what I do
