MagWest is a cross between PPE meets Woodstock, an expo where music and arcade are celebrated together. Because of this collective collaboration the seminar, Pinball is Music, Music is pinball was created. The Pacific Pinball Museum is also hosting a small room of pinball machines.
Topic Abstract
"Music and pinball have always been integrally rooted in history, art and sound. We will explore the evolution of pinball music from the early days of chimes and bells, to memorable synthesized music scores, to the new pulse pounding games featuring AC/DC, Metallica and movies like The Hobbit and Alien which have inspired epic original pinball music. From the 30s through the 60s music inspired art gave us pinball games like Dixieland, Sing-Along and Beat Time consisting of bootleg Beatles. Experience the music of pinball, and how music was woven into pinball and America's cultural fabric. "
The presentation is going to be a mix of video, audio with a minimum of talking heads \-)
