Hi Rolf
I don’t think the problem is magnetic.
I think that the pop bumper ring is corroded and is capturing the ball in the corrosion pits of the ring.

On a side note, if the pop bumper rings are corroded they will scratch the ball leading to playfield dirt and wear.
