Are you sure the magnet is energized and holding the ball? On my DH the magnet flattened over time and the ball would get stuck in the magnet hole. Eventually the game goes into ball search mode. I replaced the magnet core and fixed a small chip on the hole with wood filler and no more stuck balls.
